Fine Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Brush Washer

This attractive small porcelain jar, a brush washer, was made during the late 15th to early 16th century. It is relatively heavily-potted and decorated in underglaze blue of very good colour with a pattern featuring scrolling lotus blossoms. Both inner and outer surfaces are coated in a thick glaze. The foot and recessed flat base remain unglazed.

Diameter 6.75 cm. A fine example in fine condition...

A very early pair of child's shoes hand sewn and pegged and nailed. The shoes are fragile but one is much better than the other. They are early enough that the soles are identical with no difference in right and left shoe. They are 6" long and 3 1/2" tall. circa 1830. These early shoes are hard to find and look wonderful with a textile collection.

Storage jar with beautiful dark brown glaze drippings from the neck and shoulder down, over a dark brown stone ware with countless inclusions. Around the neck engraved with cross pattern. Shape somewhat distorted. Height 11 inches, width 10 inches. Two short cracks at the rim, one small chip at the rim, glaze partly rubbed due to extensive usage. Overall condition good. Japan 18/19th century.

A tea-bowl with beautifully russet glazed, Southern Song Fujian ware. Condition a small repaired to rim, otherwise is very good condition. Diameter: 12,3 cm.

A lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1500 BC, XVIII Dynasty, 5/8” long (16 mm) and made of violet-blue steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

Two Small Chinese Qingbai Glazed Lotus Petal Dishes. Circa, 14th Century, Dehua Kiln, Fujian, Yuan Dynasty. Found in the Philippines. Featuring two small dishes, one slightly larger than the other, and their exterior decorated with carved upright lotus petals. The two dishes are covered in a green-white ‘Qingbai’ glaze, stopping well above their feet...

This early 20th century pale green porcelain Guan Yin is 9 inches tall. The image of Guan Yin holding a baby boy is a fertility symbol in Chinese custom. It is in good condition.

Rare Japonesque mixed metal tray. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1878. Square with curved sides and straight edges. Two birds soar and glide. One is viewed from below and the other from above (that is, from bird’s eye). An original and jokey design incorporating the exotic flattened Japanese perspective. Chinese Jin Dynasty Painted Pottery Filial Piety Tile (AD 1115 - 1234) - Tian Brothers

This interesting pottery tile was made during the Jin Dynasty (AD 1115 - 1234) and most likely comes from Shanxi province. It depicts a scene from the story of the Tian Brothers, one of the stories of the twenty-four paragons of filial piety:

This pair of Chinese late Ming Dynasty (1368~1644) blue and white vases (Mei Ping) are 10 ¼” high and 5” on the widest part. Aside from some dark spots and blisters due to firing, they are in excellent condition.
