Qianlong or Jiaqing period, late 1700s
Molded in the form of a sauce dish with an attached handle in the shape of a stylized dragon, this was an item of fairly high quality made for the Chinese market—not for export. It is covered with a thick imperial yellow glaze on the exterior and the interior is enameled in turquoise. It is raised on a tall foot of which the interior and base is clear glazed with a slight bluish tone...
The U-shaped body with broad flaring mouth supported on three tall splayed legs, cast around the body with a key-fret band and to the underside of the spout with a nine character Mark. Very nice patina. H : 15,8 cm. L : 17,9 cm. Condition: Perfect.

A genuine late 17th to mid 18th century hand made openwork European grade sterling pierced strainer or ladle with a gilded bowl. Wonderful and complete sculpture of Padmavati, a Hindu goddess who is worshipped as an aspect of the goddess Lakshmi, but who also plays an important role in Jainisme as the protecting goddess of the 23rd Tirthankara. Unfortunately the images are not able to show the strenght resp. the richness of the really superb and glossy turquoise glaze which covers a very nice moulded floral decoration with all in all 10 boys. This really extremely nice vase is displayed in its exactly fitting old wooden stand.

A beautifully executed English lead wine glass with a round funnel bowl engraved and polished with a butterfly, grapes, and vines. A straight hollow stem leads to a domed and folded foot with a rough pontil. An almost identical example is shown in Plate 78g of Haynes.
