Antique Japanese ikebana basket. Wild and natural appearance with gnarled wisteria branches making up the frame of the basket including a tall arching handle. The small, neatly woven body of the basket is made of split bamboo and is nestled between the knotted wisteria branches.

This form of jug called a monk's cap is of Tibetan origin. The model was adopted in China from the beginning of the 15th century and very appreciated. Monks' cap jugs were made of porcelain. They are always of good quality. The example presented here is made of thick bronze (yellow copper alloy). I don't think it's cast but rather hammered bronze.The border of the top in strong relief would indicate a cast bronze. But it is not certain...

Lebes gamikoi were vessels associated with marriage rituals held for both the living and the unmarried deceased.

Condition with a short hairline visible on enlargement 3, otherwise is good condition. Diameter: 6,8 cm and Height: 4,6 cm. found at South Sulawesi area.

19th century staghorn ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved in a shape of abalone shell. Good design, natural imperfections in staghorn, stained green (actually resembling the color of large abalone shell from the Sea of Japan that contain edible animal), overall in very good condition. Length 13/16 inches.

This pale buff earthenware vase is painted with a fairly elaborate Moorish design derived from Middle Eastern ceramics. The front is tin glazed, and the back is largely unglazed, exposing the earthenware body. Two loop handles are attached to the shoulder for suspension. There is a small old chip to the lip of the opening. There are some small glaze skips from firing, and some old wear from use. No cracks or repairs.

Exquisite Antique Japanese pair of large garden lanterns. Each is made of cast iron in 10 sections. The roof of each has raised writing, the lantern portions are decorated with kiri blossoms. The pedestals are coiled around with dragons in low relief, the base of each has high relief fu-dogs. Very difficult to collect.

Nice high relief blackstone seal from the Early-Dynastic-Arkkadian period.
The seal is engraved with a man lifting his weapon, probably sword besides two fighting ibexes.

Fine Pair of Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Figures with Oxford TL Test
These fine pair of pottery figures, one male, one female, was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). They are made from quite a high-fired creamy-coloured pottery. They are very finely modelled: note the detail of the clothing, hairstyle and facial features. The figures stand side by side, upright, in respectful poses each with their hands held together across their stomachs...
Circa 1880, marbleized slate game board with ornate gold gilding. Painted on slate with line carving, it is securely mounted in a walnut frame. In very good antique condition with some painting loss commensurate with age. Measures 28.25ʺ wide × 1.5ʺ deep × 20ʺ high.
