This is the finest miniature Olmec jade maskette that I have ever seen. The beard is a particularly noteworthy feature. Many bearded figures are known from the Olmec culture and are seen on a variety of media. It measures only 1 1/2" long. It is mildly scooped in the back. Found in a dig in Veracruz, Mexico in 1966.
