Antique Japanese stone sekitō (pagoda) with three tiers. Made of granite and carved in 7 stacking pieces. The central square section is carved with a seated Buddha on four sides. The top spire is carved with 9 tiers between lotus petals. The surface has a beautiful patina and is covered with areas lichen and moss.

Handmade of colonial silver, this "mate" cup is of Uruguayan origin from the 1850-1870 period.
"Mate" is a special cup for drinking "yerba mate" a popular tea brewed from the leaves of a native holly (Ilex Paraguariensis). The perforated silver straw used for drinking the "mate" contains leaves carving.

Antique Japanese large and deeply carved ranma depicting three sages (from left to right): Le-tieguai (with the iron crutch) , Zheng si yuan (with the tiger) and Gama Sennin (with the frog). There is much of the original paint still intact. Wonderfully carved with great detail and expression. Most likely from a Shinto temple. Edo Period (18th century). This tall baluster vase is glazed in deep oxblood red that is suffused all around with patches of pale blue ranging to lavender and purple. The overall effect is somewhat reminiscent of a landscape painting. As a lamp, it retains its original brass fittings, but one socket is an old replacement. The wiring is intact and the lamp still functions...

A heavy six-sided porcelain deep bowl decorated on the outside with famille rose enamels depicting ladies and boys in a garden landscape. The base bears the six character seal mark ( painted in iron red) of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874). Condition: there are enamel losses to the turquoise glazed interior: no losses to the famille rose enamels: no chips or cracks to the porcelain body and no restoration. 21 cm (8.5 inches) across; 9 cm (3.6 inches) high.

Diameter approximately 11 cm. In good condition.

The Famille Rose decoration on this large tray is absolutely breathtaking. Please regard the enlargements to recognize the superb quality of this most impressing piece which almost reaches the quality of the best examples of the Yongzheng period. Daoguang period ( 1821 - 1850 ) Diameter maximal : 37,4 cm. Condition : Very nice condition, partially there is an old minute fritting to the rim.

This very well molded and colored late 19th century sitting Guan Yin is 9 ½” high, 4 ¾” wide and 3 ½” deep. It depicts Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) holding a RuYi scepter and pearl sitting on a double lotus seat. Aside from a crack line on the back due to firing, it is in excellent condition.

A 19th century late Qing charger, glazed in light pea-green celadon, and molded / carved with various floral motifs in relief.

Condition report: Basically perfect condition. There is a Chinese character for “two” etched to the front surface, and there are some age scratches to glaze.

One of a collection of three fantastic and rare, large Edo Period Iki masks, de-accessioned from the Musée Archéologique in Strasbourg, France during the mid-20th Century. These three are rare for their large size. They have never before been offered on the art market. The other two masks are posted on this site. Carved Poloma wood with gofun (oyster shell lacquer), glass eyes and human hair. 7.5 inches (19 cm) high x 7 inches (18 cm) wide.

A Qing Celadon Censer. Diameter approximately 20.5 cm and height approximately 15.5 cm. Decorated with flowers, curve lines and covered with bluish green color. Good condition.

Webb satin finish peachblow rose bowl, 3 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. The bowl is cased in white with the exterior shaded from dark red at the top to a yellowish red at the bottom. The rim is crimped and edged in gold. The body of the rose bowl is decorated with gold prunus and a butterfly. There is a ground and polished pontil mark.

Japanese bronze statute of a peasant maiden. Signed Hidemitsu. Meiji Period. Height 30-1/2"; diameter of base 9-1/4".

Chinese antique monochrome porcelain gourd shaped vase with "peach bloom" glaze. Light red mottled with light green glaze. White glaze inside and inset bottom with 6 character Kangxi mark. Very fine hairline crack on the neck near mouth of vase.

Beautiful English Victorian hand enameled covered glass tureen with birds and leaves. Legs and handle to lid applied. Condition is perfect.
