Nicely rendered and cast, with good detail in face and mane, this Roman bronze applique or roundel dates to the 1st to 3rd centuries AD, and measures 2 3/4" (vertical) x 2 7/8" (horizontal). It has two holes at the side for attachment, and also has holes where a loop was once attached at the mouth.
