A black-glazed Jianyang tea cup was in rarely-seen silver-spots effects in the glaze.
The tea bowl was in oval shape with inverted mouth rim.
It was applied on the surface with dark brown, appearing black glaze on the surface.
The dense slip stopped evenly above the foot ring.
Slightly iridescent and brownish, the silver streaks embellished the glaze with metal-sheen-feel reflection.
It was a characteristic skill in that periods for Jianyang wares...

A fine Meiji era cloisonne vase with decoration of colorful chidori flying over young bamboo all over an even mauve-violet background. The chidori with black, dark orange, light gray blue, and white details. The bamboo with green and some yellow details. A fine border appears along the rim and the foot. Condition is good. A slight scratch here and a light rub there...

Description:
A black-glazed Cizhou jar was uniquely decorated on the surface with ribbed lines.
It was a characteristic type of jars of Cizhou wares.
More uniquely, there are Chinese characters "Chang" which most likely as Chinese last names were inscribed on both loops.
They were finished by ribbed techniques.
Accordingly of the names, the jar was believed a custom-made ware by noble people.
It was a more valuable piece then.

A spectacular set of bira-bira-kanzashi hair pins in the form of cranes among blossoming plum and pine formed of silver which come enclosed in a custom made silk-lined wooden box. Two are 13 inches (33 cm) long, the other is 9 inches (23 cm) long and all are in fine condition. According to a label inside the box they are from Akita City in Northern Japan, sold by Takeyaso Hon-ten. The box is 15 x 17 x 5 inches (38 x 43 x 13 cm). I do have more images if someone is interested.
An interesting mask with European features. Dayak, Borneo, early 20th century. H. 23 cm, W. 31 cm. H. including stand 38 cm. This mask and the rest of the collection Da Silva was auctioned at Christie's Amsterdam in 2001. Catalogue is included.
