An elegant brush pot was made from the precious Huanghuali wood.
Being preserved with charming brownish patina on the surface, the brush pot was carved totally from a wood trunk, including to the bottom.,
The characteristic signs of ox-hair wood grains and ghost–eye marks were obvious.
By well proportioned shape, it was decorated on the rims and the supported feet with lineated ridges.

This bell is approximately 200 years old and was used on the camels crossing Tibet, NW China into Mongolia. It would be worn on a strap and hang loose below the camels belly between the legs. A peach-bloom glazed water basin was in nice shape.
Well glazed in gradient tints, the basin was revealed with finely-grained body clay at the foot ring when darken firing effects was resulted within.
It was used for some time. Crackled wires were yielded inside the basin.

Description: A scholar bronze water basin was in lovely pumpkin shape. Covered with typical old patina on the surface and left pigment between the lobes, the item was kept in very good condition except some minor dents which was not unusual to an old piece.

Description: A miniature porcelain figure was molded as Bu-dai Buddha with bare and protruding belly. With characteristic wide smile he was solid shaped as a porcelain toggle which was rarely seen. A soapstone carving was depicted as a sitting Lohan.
Amusingly, the Lohan was seated with one bare foot and holding with the shoe.
By unique purplish red tint, the soapstone figure was preserved nicely with only minute defects on portions of the bottom's rim.
There were jewels and beads decorated on the robe, now were missing and left only with fastening holes.
Some similar pieces were in the big auction of Hong Kong...

Being decorated on two handles in bamboo form, the Zitan cup was well hollowed in a round shape and was in a plain form.
By excellent carving skill, the bamboo stalks were vividly imitated and being as good handles.
It was preserved in long time of age and already owned the enduring old purplish-black patina.
Overall condition was great when some old cracks were observed.
Some abrasions were at the bottom too.
This appears to be an incarnation of Shindara Daisho of the 12 guardian deities (Juni Shinsho). He has glass eyes and stands on the original Daiza.. The Deity is 21 inches (53.5 cm) tall, total height with stand is 33 inches (83 cm). Later Edo period (18th-19th century). The left hand has been replaced.

A very rare Chinese Nanmu scholar's table chest. Nanmu wood has been used in China since the Han dynasty and is very prized by collectors as it is difficult to find. I feel that it is rarer than huanghuali. I have only come across one Nanmu scholar's chest in all the years that I have been collecting.

Description: A terracotta amulet or Tsa-Tsa of Tibet was preserved well in a fine condition. By a mold image of Shakyamuni Buddha who in the earth-witness gesture on the front, gold pigment was applied including the drapery throne when faded red and darken purplish pigment were left to the background. Description: A boxwood figure was vividly carved as a shepherd boy by mastery craftsmanship. Holding a pipe (which had been lost), the shepherd boy stands step-forwardly in a animated posture. A nice boxwood carving with nice patina was preserved good with only one small defect on his left foot(loss of two toes) and a minor crack at the rim of his straw hat. A newly made stand was included.

Very fine and rare Japanese Edo era Hasami Bako, or storage/traveling box, measuring roughly 12" wide (including brass hanging hooks on sides),
5 1/2" deep, and 6 1/8" high.
It dates to the late Edo era, some time between 1780 and 1850.
The top is slightly domed, as is visible in some photos, and all edges and corners are decorated with incised brass metal sections, and two U shaped handles are on both ends, and can stand upright, as would be the carrying position for a larger trunk.
