One of a number of prints by this artist in my inventory, this is a fresh and clean rather early example of one of William Russell Flint's fine color reproductions issued in limited editions for collectors over a period of decades. Pair of hard porcelain pheasants covered with "famille rose" enamels, gilt details. "compagnie des indes" style. Although the style is Chinese from the 18th century, these are late copies Probably Chinese work from the 20th century, perhaps from the Republican period. Created in the 1980s, Haku Maki did a series of rarely seen prints called Drop. They seemed to depict oil dropped onto the surface of water. Drop 7 is one of those prints. It is no. 32 of 203 and it measures 9.75in W x 11in H. As with many old prints, it has tape residue on the four edges of the back from a previous framing but there is no impact on the face of the print.

Original Japanese woodblock print by 20th century master Jun'Ichiro Sekino (1914-1988) circa 1950s. Unusual column format (roughly 28" by 10" paper, 21" by 5" image), extremely unusual subject, signed "J. Sekino" in pencil lower right and numbered 67/100 lower left. In its original frame, not examined out of the frame but apparently in excellent condition. Sekino's woodblocks are found in the collections of most important art museums, including MOMA and the Art Institute of Chicago.
