A lovely antique watercolor painting featuring a path at the edge of a wooded landscape, a young girl at right picking lupine. The 16" by 23 1/2" work (23 1/2" by 31 1/4" framed) is signed at lower left and dated there 1910 by listed artist RALPH W. BARDILL (1876-1935). Bardill was known for his rural watercolor scenes, with autumn and winter forests, quaint villages and coastal scenes common subject matter. This work is in excellent condition...
For the collector of early, 19th century California art, here is an east coast-style still life work, 10" by 14 1/2", unframed, signed at lower right "Bertie L Emery" and dated there 1892. The shallow dish holds oranges, grapes, a banana, and possibly slices of cake or bread, the dish resting on a white cloth, on an unseen tabletop. Interestingly for art history, Emery signs her first name as "Bertie"...
A well-painted work featuring an interior, perhaps a residence, perhaps a restaurant or other public space, a table with fruit in a bowl, a chair, and sofa filling the space. The oil on canvas, 17 1/2" by 21" (20 1/2" by 24" in old frame, likely the original), is signed somewhat indecipherably at lower left and dated there "Berlin 1909". The name appears at first glance to be "B. Geis(xxxx)" or "B. Geism(xxxx)"...
An unsigned oil on artist board of beautiful nude done circa 1900 in the style of German born English artist Walter Sickert 1860-1942, know for his Nude paintings and a friend of the impressionist and neoimpressionist
Acquired from the recent liquidation of the extensive estate of actor Charlton Heston and his wife Lydia, this is an original photograph, unsigned/unattributed, measuring 13 1/2" by 17 3/4", unframed, in a clean white mat. There are a number of contemporary notations in pencil on the mat, including "STILL LIFE MID 1920", and a $300 asking price. The photo seems to be perhaps earlier, so "circa 1900" might be reasonable...
Paul Cesar Helleu
1859-1927
French
This is a fine Belle Epoque portrait in drypoint by French artist Paul Cesar Helleu. The subject is: Madeleine Chéruit. This image measures 15 1/2X11 1/2 inches, hand signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right border. This drypoint is housed in a Foster Brothers period gilt frame.. Madeleine Chéruit was one of the most fashionable French dressmakers of her time. Her house of courture took inspiration from the Belle Epoque through to the Jazz Age...
Please notice the new image overlays on Whistler. These match very well. After 50 years+ of ownership and research by an Art Collector this unknown Self-Portrait of an Artist has been identified. The Old Master Collector who purchased this Portrait does not remember where he bought the Portrait. It was a habit of his to visit Antique and Art Shops around the world during his travels. He especially enjoyed working the shops in England for works of Art...
A circa 1910 small oil on canvas landscape of a forest pond, signed at lower right "O. Sch". This 3 1/2" by 5 1/2" work (9 1/2" by 11 1/2" framed) came from a local family of German heritage. Their art, some of which I acquired, came with the family from the old country. This work has some condition issues, as the canvas over the decades has buckled, with sharp horizontal roughly parallel "ridges" now apparent, as well as craquelure...
Print by Helen Hyde titled "Daikon and the Baby", dated 1903, woodblock print on very thin, fine paper,
size of printed area: 6" high x 3" wide.
Old photo of a seaside Greek temple with Doric columns, 10" by 14" (17" by 20 1/2" in metal framing with mat). I am not a specialist in vintage photography, but this seems to have some age. There is some silvering at lower right. The print might have been created from an old negative with some damage as there are some white spots in the print that are not damage to the print itself----I imagine that this is disturbance on the original negative...

Maria Ada Gianni
1873-1956
Italian
This is a fine original gouache painting by Italian artist Maria Gianni. The scene is the Bay of Naples with Mt Vesuvius in the background. The painting is signed lower left. The image measures 5X12 1/2 inches and came to us in what appears to be the original early frame which measures 8X16 inches.
This painting is something of a mystery, in that it depicts a fantastic classic castle on a hill, obviously in the Old World, a donkey pulling a card in the foreground......yet, there is a modernity to the work, especially in the somewhat cubist handling of the lines of the architecture, but, also, there's modernity in the entire structure of the image. Painted on an old board, this measures 26" by 18" (30" by 22" in a modern frame)...
After Elizabeth Louise Vigee-LeBrun,Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun (Marie Élisabeth Louise; 16 April 1755 – 30 March 1842) was a French painter, and is

carving. Great condition...
Tinted color appearance photograph of West Gate, Garden of the Gods, Colorado, by the noted William Henry Jackson (April 4, 1843 – June 30, 1942), an American painter, Civil War veteran, geological survey photographer and explorer, famous for his images of the American West. The work measures 4 1/4" by 7 1/4" (11 1/4" by 14 1/4" framed). I am not a specialist in photographica of the American West, but from research this appears to be what is called a "photochrom" of a black and white image or...
