Vintage Japanese incense stick container carved out of kurogaki (black persimmon) wood, the body with dense leaf design, and the cover with fine lattice design and an oval reserve containing the the character FUKU (happiness. HOUSE OF DAIKOKU AND EBISU

Wood carving deities of Daikoku (God of Good harvest) and Ebisu (God of Good catch) that is the most auspicious pair worshiped as the Gods of Business success based on traditional folk belief in Japan. Showa period, 20th century, Japan. House: 20 x 20 x D 10.5cm (7.87 x 7.87 x 4.13in)...

A carved and dark red lacquered oval tea tray with cherry blossom in cinnabar red and yellow-white. Made in Kamakura, the back with a stamped seal mark. Width "17/ 43 cm. Condition: minimal wear.

Japanese Tsugaru / Wakasa lacquer box and six coasters, early 20th century lacquer work with a speckled and metallic surface, an old Honshu speciality. The pattern is rhombic, the lid of the box gold or bronze coloured, the coasters a reddish brown. The back of the coasters is black and slightly structured. Diameter of coasters "3 ¼ / 9.5 cm and of box "5 / 12.5 cm. Condition: small loss of lacquer to the rim of the lid, otherwise fine.

It was from early 20th century with traditional Chinese dragon patterns.
