A pair of decorative table cloths made by Pashtun women, with mirrored, beaded discs ("gul-i-peron") on each corner which serve as protective amulets. The blue bead edging is typical of Pashtun textiles, and is used extensively on purses and clothing as a prophylactic against the evil eye. Silk thread in vibrant colors has been applied in mostly herringbone stitch on a pink cotton background with cording. Each panel measures 26.5 x 26.5 cm. Condition of the pair is excellent...

Chinese hardwood Abacus, natural finish color, 1 1/4" high, 11 1/2" x 4 1/4" wide, numbers in Chinese Character in red in front and very large sign of the some Liquor store name in the back, the dovetail or butterfly joint work between back and the side frame, it is in good condition, no damage.

Japanese 20th century print of a cottage, bamboo, calligrahy and lattice. Signed in pencil by artist, MANABU MORI. Numbered 2 of 90. Dated 1962. The paper measures 20" wide by 24" tall. The print measures 14 1/2" wide by 18 1/2" tall. The sides of the paper have been folded to make the paper 18" wide.

Rather unusual Japanese porcelain obidome / netsuke in a shape of a mask of a female theatrical character Waka-Onna. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, and is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions. Very clever design, excellent modeling and enameling - see her crisp features and delicate toning of the face. Bar on the back for an obi or netsuke cord, in perfect condition. Chinese posrcelain tea bowls with saucers and lids. The cups and lids are beautifully painted with phoenixes and dragons flying through clouds. The saucer is painted with pink, blue and yelow clouds. The cups are signed Chein Lung on the base, date from republic period. They measure 4.5" wide 3.5" tall with saucer and lid.

Very rare carving of the Three Wise Monkeys, sanzaru in Japanese, sitting on two logs. The one who hears no evil (kikazaru) and the one who speaks no evil (iwazaru) are sitting together. A little separated from them sits the one that sees no evil (mizaru). Carved in facet-cut (abstracted style) in soft cedar wood (sugi).

Signature in the bottom: Masahide.

Cotton woman's kimono (yukata) with shibori pattern which is chemical indigo dye. Shibori techniques are Orinui shibori (folded & stitched) and Hiranui-makiage shibori (stitched & bound). In good condition. Mid 20th century. 130cm x 146cm

Probably used once and then packed away for another generation, this vintage silk traditional sari from Varanasi is a vibrant as the day it was loomed. A small leaf pattern of gold metallic thread dots the entire length of the deep green silk field. There is a 2 inch brocaded border on each side which also runs the length of the sari. The end panel is ornately patterned brocaded silk and makes extensive use of gold metallic threads...
