This Pashtun nomad's pistol holster from Katawaz is embroidered in ladder stitching on a red silk background, depicting whorls and arabesque motifs in vibrant yellow, green, blue, purple and white. The holster is ornamented with mirrors and blue beads along the edges, blue beads being a traditional feature of Pashtun embroidery for protection against the blue evil eye. Vintage good size glass ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) in barrel shape with subtle black, blue and green pattern. Beautifully made, pleasantly heavy, wonderful smooth surface. Diameter 0.94 Inches.

Japanese glass ojime in a form of tombodama bead with milky white core and a band of multicolored flowers with fine tiny silver foil inclusions. Tombodama can be translated as “dragonfly ball” and the name is thought to come about because when the molten glass is applied to the core bead it resembles a dragonfly’s eye. Superbly made piece - see the individual stamens and finely textured petals, in perfect condition. Height 0.74 inches.

This pretty crystal, Ruby Flashed, Ashburton Candy Dish with Lid was made by Westmoreland Glass. The Ashburton pattern is hard to find in crystal ruby flashed. It measures 7 3/4 inches to top of knob X 4 1/8 inches in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The ruby stain is all very good. This one measures 33 x 66 cm and has a soft knotted and piled face and a wonderful unique kilim flat woven back which is decorated with colorful bands of chevron patterns mixed with narrow black and white geometrical patterns.
