Beautiful Chinese brush washer carved in the form of two peaches , carved from a piece of lovely pale agate with yellow striations, intricate details of curling leaves and tiny bats inside the large peach and on the outside of the small peach, the bottom is carved with more little bats, the brush washer sits on a wooden stand carved in the shape of entwined lotus leaves. This carved gold hair (acicular) crystal snuff bottle is 2 ¾” high, 2 ½” wide and 1 5/8” thick. It presents the traditional Chinese three companions of winter: bamboo, pine tree and plum blossoms. The carver carved a bamboo stalk and used it as the body of the bottle. An old pine tree and a plum tree with blossoms are arranged around the bamboo stalk. The top is carved agate. This is a mid-20th century product. It is in great condition.

This set of 5 porcelain serving bowls is packed in their original paper box. They are a mid-20th century product. The bowls are 2 ¼” high and 4 ½” in diameter. They have blue, green and orange floral and pattern designs inside and outside. There is a maker’s mark “Oyoshi kiln” on the bottoms. They were never used and are in excellent condition.

This carved smoky crystal snuff bottle is 2” high, 3” long and 1” thick. It depicts a lucky bat resting on a melon. The crystal has some natural flaws. However, the color is quite even and it has been well hollowed and polished. It has a coral top. This is a mid-20th century product and is in good condition.

Exquisite set of Japanese Dairi bina (hina), the emperor and the empress dolls from early to mid Showa period. This is not a large set of dolls. The measurements of the wood box are 17” wide x 12 3/4” tall x 13 1/2” deep. We should add the approximate sizes of dolls. The label indicates that they are from Matsuzaka-ya, a major department store. Matsuzaka-ya started as a kimono store in late 16th century, pre Edo period...

Chinese low cabinet made entirely out of beautiful light color hardwood, possible Huali, the two doors are carved with a raised floral design in the center surrounded by a raised key fret motif, hardware is made of brass, the interior has one shelf, very solid, early/mid 20th century. Very small shrine holding the figure of Dakiniten riding a white (or silver) fox. Dakiniten is worshiped at the Toyokawa Inari temples. The zushi is on the inside encased behind a glass pane, surrounded by painted treasure symbols. These kind of zushi are sold at the temple to the patrons and other visitors. Polychromed wood with abundant gold and silver Japan, dated Taisho 13 (1924).

This Chinese hair comb was hand carved from a beautifully "grained" translucent animal horn. Obtained from an ethnic minority person, the pair of ducks carved into the handle were commonly used by mainstream Han Chinese as a symbol of a long and happy marriage. Items with this symbol would often be gifted for an anniversary.

This belt would have been worn for festival gatherings. Decorated with beads, cowrie shells and central turquoise medallion the belt strap is narrow approx 1.25 inched wide. Hanging from the belt are beaded strands in graduated lengths with each strand ending with a cowrie shell. There is a cord tie attached so that the belt can be tied at the back of the wearer. It is a lovely piece

This wallet from Afghanistan measures 15.5 x 31.5 cm and is embroidered in silk thread on a pink satin ground. The embroidery technique is an intricately worked ladder stitch, with button hole stitches and corded silk tassels for closure. The purse is from Katawaz, in Ghazni province, with two interior pockets. Condition is excellent, estimated age mid to late 20th century.

With three inner compartments this vintage wallet from Afghanistan dates to the mid 20th century and is lined with red printed cotton and heavily decorated with woven blue seed beads which act as charms to avert evil from the wearer. Silk thread is intricately worked in ladder stitch forming volute motifs accented with gold metallic braiding on an ivory linen background. Condition is excellent.

Measuring 15 x 26 cm this charming purse is completely hand-embroidered in silk thread on a polyester ground. The embroidery is a very finely worked ladder stitch combined with Romanian couching ("pokhtaduzi") so densely worked as to almost completely obscure the background fabric. The metal thread around the mirrors is fastened down at regular intervals with small holding stitches, producing a characteristic relief to the pattern...

Very rare and unusual zen buddhist temple lantern in original kiri (paulownia) wood box. Dated on the box, Showa 3 (1929). Bronze with rice paper lining. Electrical light was added. Wonderful condition with a few bronze spots. Ask for shipping quote. H:51cm x Diameter :33cm.

Chinese hardwood Abacus, natural finish color, 1 1/4" high, 11 1/2" x 4 1/4" wide, numbers in Chinese Character in red in front and very large sign of the some Liquor store name in the back, the dovetail or butterfly joint work between back and the side frame, it is in good condition, no damage.

Measuring 10" x 15 1/4", this textile was made by Hmong women living in Laos. Machine embroidery, reverse applique combined with some tightlyworked hand embroidery for accents. The spirals symbolize longevity. Condition is excellent and its estimated age is mid to late 20th century. The cushion is backed with a supple dark magenta pig suede and features an invisible side zipper for ease of dry cleaning. The pillow insert is 100% polyester fiber.

Measuring 18 x 18.5 cm when closed, this embroidered purse from Baluchistan is called a "bushkiri" and would be used for storing or carrying valuables and bridal dowry gifts. Worked in a delicate combination of satin stitch and brick stitch in silk thread, the embroidered patterns are medallion, diamond and chevron combined with continuous zigzag forms.
