This figural glass lamp was produced by L.E. Smith Company during the 1940's - 50's. The color was fired on over clear glass, giving the opaque finish. This style is referred to as the 'Southern Belle' lamp. I have 2 available. Both have been re-wired so they work fine. The shade clips on the light bulb. (Bulb not included, I recommend 25 or 40 watt bulbs so the glass doesn't get too hot.) Please specify which you'd like. All are in good shape.

A carved and dark red lacquered serving tray, depicting Bog Arum (Calla Palustris) with its cinnabar red berries emerging from the elongated leaves. Made in Kamakura, the back with a stamped seal mark. Diameter "10 ¾/ 27.5 cm. Condition: some wear and scratch marks (cf. pics).
A set of four fans (uchiwa) made of bamboo and washi (Japanese hand-made paper). Each has hand-painted pictures and signs such as three kabuki "kumadori" which is special makeup of the kabuki player and Otahuku. All have the same written seal marks, however the name of the artist is not clear. Two are painted with kakishibu (persimmon tannin) 20th century. In excellent condition. W:30.5cm H:35.5cm
A hand-embroidered Turkman Yomut nomad's skullcap from Herat dated to the early to mid 20th century. Exceptionally fine ladder stitch combined with satin stitch and couching in silk thread. Condition is very good, just some tiny stains. Diameter: 18 cm, circumference 48.5 (approx. 19 inches).
Dancing Nymph is the correct name for this Consolidated pattern - it's sometimes called "Dance of the Nudes" due to listings in depression glass books under that name. Made in 1928, it's a wonderful pattern for the deco collector as well as glass lovers. This is the footed sherbet in crystal. Perfect condition. I have 3 available, price is per sherbet. Early Showa period (1930s) Japanese kogo (box for incense during tea ceremony) of turned wood, top and bottom are lacquered with concentric circles of different colors. Elegant object in Japanese taste with overwhelming simplicity, two parts fit perfectly, beautiful surfaces, in excellent condition. Diameter 1.9 inches.
Pepper and salt set, probably 1960's, marked Made in England. When put together the two halves form a white sphere, when apart they display a printed decoration in black of two stylized lions, the design in the manner of Richard Guyatt. Height "3 ¼/ 8 cm. Condition: fine.

Beaded Block was produced by Imperial Glass Company from 1927 to about 1930. Pieces in this pattern are difficult to find and eagerly scooped up by collectors when they do surface. Nice old Karen woven bamboo lacquered box from the Thai/Burma border region, this has a few old repairs but overall good condtion. Circa 40 to 60 years old. D: 13.25cm/.2in and H: 8.53cm/33in.
This vintage purse from Afghanistan is worked in a variation of ladder stitch and Bukhara couching to form repeating whorl and volute motifs. Silk and metallic thread are embroidered on a green polyester ground. The purse feature two inside pockets lined with red printed cotton, with the outer edges fringed with blue glass seed beads to protect against the evil eye. It measures 10.5 x 14 cm when closed, 13.8 x 25 cm when opened and dates to the mid or late 20th century.
A pair of small pottery spill vases, Japan, unmarked, probably Kyoto, 1920’s. Bottle shaped, decorated with hand painted flowers and borders in olive green and black, pink, brown and blue against a cream-coloured background. Height "5/ 12,5 cm. Condition: firing crack to the foot rimof one vase, otherwise fine (cf pictures).
Hex Optic is one of the earlier depression patterns. It was made by Jeannette Glass from 1928 to 1932 and used extensively in their kitchenware lines. Offered here is the ice bucket in green in excellent condition. This version has the pour spout so that a reamer can be inserted and the bucket serves double duty. it comes with the original metal handle & serving tongs. American needlework sampler I would date to about 1935-1950, hand embroidered in traditional style, silk thread on cotton, the imagery of a house and tree, the sweet message being "Here let us live Life at its Best/ Here my we find/ Comfort and Rest". No glass, good vintage condition, some faint old very light brownish staining to background.
Interesting early Deco gilt metal pendant of Chinese shape. The front with an enameled motif of a lady with Chinese hairstyle busy with needlework in front of a smoking scenser, all within a keyfret border. The back with a cracked ice border surrounding a willow tree and ducks in a pond. Probably French, around 1920. Width "1 ½ / 3.7 cm. Condition: fine, except for a darker spot to the back, visible from a certain angle (cf. last photo).
