Tribal Oceanic, Papua-New Guinea, first half of the 20th century, a finely carved wood sculpture in the form of a standing ancestor figure, with eyes inlaid with cowrie shells, painted in dark grey pigment with white polychrome face, mounted on a modern black painted wooden stand.

Small box and cover. The base of the box made of kiri wood (Paulownia), the cover made of kiri and keyaki (Zelkova) wood, diagonally joined together. The outside of the cover is decorated with two black shijimi fresh-water clam shells in kiji makie technique (applying makie lacquer decoration to natural wood).

Inside of the cover signed with red lacquer seal: Tairei; bottom of box stamped seal of the wood worker who made the box: ‘To’ inside a double gourd.

A Chinese Yixing Teapot, Late Qing/Republic. Length approximately 9 cm (the tip spout to the handle) , height approximately 5 cm. The teapot has 3 (three) small chips at the tip spout and the cover. Good condition, free of restoration and hairline.

A rare Murano glass Amberina vase with controlled bubbles ('Bullicante') and having gold-fleck applied handles. The vase is 6 3/4 inches (17 cm) wide and 5 inches (12,5 cm) tall. It is in fine condition. Unsigned. It is attributed to Barrovier-Seguso-Ferro (probably designed by Flavio Poli).

Set of two Chinese ink stones. The larger one is carved with dragons and clouds surrounding the three pots. On the back there are two sections of writing. The other stone is covered and the front cover has scenic carving with a poem. On the back of this one there is a three character seal mark. Both stones are well used.

Size: Larger stone is approximately 9" in length by 6" wide by 1" high. The second stone is approximately 5-1/2" in length by 4" wide by 1-1/2" high

This is a hard-to-find, pharmacy or drug store female specific tin labeled “SEDETS” – Pain pills from the 1940 – 1950 era. The tin measures 2 inches and is in very good condition complete with unused contents. There are faint scratches and minor wear areas. Marked "Rexall Drug Company" and "Patented 1938 in Canada".

These 6 teacups for sencha of Hagi ware were made by 11th Saka Koraizaemon (1912-1981) about 50 years ago. Each teacup has the stamp of the potter. Hagi ware pottery is one of the most well-known pottery types in Japan since early 17th century. It became popular throughout Japan for tea ceremony during Edo period (1603-1867). Measuring 81.5 x 100 cm, this gorgeous textile made by Uzbek women is machine-embroidered in silk thread with crocheted silk fringe edging. The bouquet motifs are typical of Uzbek embroidery. A delightful French Art Deco cocktail pick set in the form of a carved rosewood cat arching his back to hiss at a little chrome snail. A wooden rack holds six chrome cocktail picks, each topped with a snail. All are presented on a macassar ebony base. A beautiful antique Chinese 14k gold jadeite earrings with pendant tear drop shaped translucent quality jade in very good condition. Marked 14k. L:3.75cm $675

This is a fabulous woven silk fukusa designed with Japanese tastes in mind. It is woven in silk with the addition of gold lacquered silk threads. Each of the four corners has four turtle tassels. The reverse side is red with a gold paulownia mon also woven with god threads. This is a very striking piece and makes a superb interior design statement. In excellent condition, it measures 24.5” square. We date this to mid-Showa.

This stylized interpretation of a waterbird illustrates the inspiration that the environment of the Venetian Lagoon has provided for centuries of artists. The waterbird sculpture is done in sommerso, with wine red blending masterfully into light cobalt blue. I have seen this design attributed to both Archimede Seguso and Alfredo Barbini. The waterbird is in good condition, no chips at the feet, polished base, unmarked.

An original limited edition Kiyoshi Saito woodblock print entitled Chapel France that was made in 1960 and numbered 11 of 120.
