Stoneware bowl by Annikki Hovisaari (1918-1974) for Arabia, Finland. Of rough structure, chamotted, the white clay with numerous dark specks and covered by a thin, matted glaze. Incised signature AH and Arabia. Height "2¾/ 7 cm, diameter "4¾/ 12 cm. Condition: fine.
A vintage mid century modernist ashtray by William Spratling with three ball feet, rows of five applied disks on three sides, and three horizontal cradles.
Measures 2 1/4" high and 3 1/8" across. Marked with the conjoined 'WS', Taxco Mexico and 925. These were the marks used between 1933-40. In good condition, has some tarnish and very minor dings to the body and the feet. One of the disks on one row is slightly askew which adds to the hand made feel.

Japanese early 20th century earthenware teapot by SASAKI NIROKU. The wonderful teapot has a Chinese landscape design carved into the side. The teapot measures 5 1/4" wide, 4 3/4" tall and 5" deep.

Antique Chinese Scholars bronze Recumbent Ram Scroll weight with legs tucked under and head turned back the ram has fruit offerings on his back topped with a Ying Yang symbol. The ram shows his age with heavy wear to one eye. Free standing and heavy for the size. Size 2" by 1.5" by .5".
Measuring 15 x 26 cm this charming purse is completely hand-embroidered in silk thread on a polyester ground. The embroidery is a very finely worked ladder stitch combined with Romanian couching ("pokhtaduzi") so densely worked as to almost completely obscure the background fabric. The metal thread around the mirrors is fastened down at regular intervals with small holding stitches, producing a characteristic relief to the pattern...

A briliant late Taisho Period C. 1930 murashido bronze brazier/flower vase. Murashido is now a favorite among bronze collectors for its art deco appeal and sensual colors. Measuring 32.5 x 208 cm on black cotton, this woman's scarf from Hazara district in Pakistan is embroidered in satin stitch in floss silk thread. The curvilinear motifs are outlined with stitches of golden floss thread. The motifs are arranged into geometric compositions indicative of Central Asian influence. Condition is excellent and its estimated age is late 20th century.
This extraordinary vessel is a prime example of Wilhelm Kåge's celebrated Farsta series for Gustavsberg, Sweden. This piece measures 10 1/2" tall and is 4 7/8" in diameter. On the underside is incised Kåge, Gustavsberg, the Gustavsberg Studio hand insignia, and the date code Z. This magnificent vessel was created in 1955. Mint condition.

A beautiful Murano glass aquarium paperweight, designed probably by Alfredo Barbini around 1960. It is 7 1/4 inches (18,4 cm) wide, 5 1/4 inches (13,4 cm) high and 2 1/4 inches (5,7 cm) deep. It is in fine condition (there are some bottom usage-scratches, as might be expected). It has a faded gold label, 'Made in Italy Murano Venezia' (please see last picture).
This very ornate Renaissance looking 800 silver bracelet has sculptural motifs that Parenti, Cini and Italy's Peruzzi used in their Renaissance looking jewelry. Here you see the swaddling baby, griffin, fleur de lis & crown over shield. This is not American, as the 800 mark and the 'coffin' touch mark is Italian in origin. No other info, no price.

Great miniature Daum Nancy cameo vase with a winter scene. I have had this vase in many shapes and sizes, but never so small. It appears to be much harder to create one this small than a larger one. The vase measures 2 1/2" tall x 1" wide. It is signed, and has no damage, with the exception of some of the original gold worn on the very top.
This prewar satsuma reclining cat is 9 inches long, 5 ½ inches wide and 4 inches tall. It is in good condition. Some color has rubbed off.
English imitation of Chineses export porcelain, Lowestoft porcelain. Federal 8.5x6” Leaf shape English. The Lowestoft porcelain factory was a soft-paste porcelain factory which was active during the mid 18th and early 19th century in Lowestoft, England.
Fostoria made the Camelia etching from 1952-65 on the Century blank. A pair in excellent condition standing 6.75" tall and 7" at their widest.
A nicely made Shiwan Pottery figure with the original wood stand from the Republic Period. The figure is in excellent condition, there is one leg missed from the wood stand. Approximately 6-1/2" at its widest point; 5-3/4" high without stand.
This Ghurra which imitates a chain is carved from a single piece of wood so without any gluing. The top shows 2 two protectors sitting back to back like Janus H 6 cm. This work testifies to a great mastery of wood carving and also to a deep respect for churning work. H 23 cm

This man's beaded hat aka skullcap is typical of the Pashtun people in the region of Southern Afganistan. Because of the extensive beading pattern, it is rather stiff and heavy.
Presumably, the interior layer of fabric was from pieced of fabric from other garments.
A symbol of humility and modesty, a bed made for the scholar's hermitage aesthetics. Carved huanghuali wood in a naturalistic root form, constructed and joined together creating the enveloping roots and branches. The seat platform is of block wood fitted to mimic woven mats. These types of furniture are reminiscent of the Song dynasty. Scholars retreated into the mountains and relinquished materialism. The aesthetic is based on nature moving away from the lavish life style...
One nice wood stand obtained traditional scholar mood.

This beautiful sterling silver case was originally meant for cigarettes but could just as easily hold business cards or ???. It is lavishly engraved with an all-over swirling pattern and bears the initials FC in script. The case is 3 1/4" x 2 3/4". It is hallmarked for Birmingham, England, sterling silver, and 1927-28. The maker's mark is FHA & Co.

Metallic thread is used to optimal effect in this Pashtun nomad's purse from southern Afghanistan. The thread is not taken through the magenta silk background but applied onto it in couched threads, laid parallel to each other and caught down by a small stitch in colored cotton...
This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by Rosenthal in the 1920s. It is signed on the base by the artist, Himmelstoss. It is 7 1/4 inches high. The piece is styled in the art deco manner. The modeling is simple and the colors are subtle. From her dress and braids down her back, you can see she is a country girl.
