A beautiful ironstone coffee pot with rich green foliate garden theme transfer and hand painted floral decoration, back stamped with Brougham and Mayer Hybla Ironstone. Very good condition marred by shallow chip inside lip of lid. This gorgeous example dates from about 1850-60. Dimension: 9 1/4" h

Staffordshire Figure of Cobbler Woman, one of a pair. This one dates to mid 19th C. and is particularly desirable because it is painted in the round. Good condition with crazing, no discernible damage. Dimension: 6 1/2" h

A superior example of Staffordshire pottery owing to a couple of factors such as the gorgeous apple green enameling, the generous gilding, and the excellent condition of the creamer. This one is painted with apple green around the body with light yellow reserves of gold framed embellishments, the neck which is decorated with swagging leaves. A rare form of slag glass, this late 19th century example is richly marbled throughout. It rests on a round foot which rises on a stem supporting a tiered crown for the straight paneled bowl. This specimen is in outstanding condition and retains its identification tag from its original collector.

An exceptionally attractive transferware bowl in the Milanese Pavilion pattern having fruit and floral images around the rim while two elegantly attired ladies converse on the pavilion. The back stamp bears the J H & Co mark of Joshua Heath & Co and dates to c. 1840 While the bowl is visually magnificent, it has a 2 3/4" hairline crack for which we have drastically reduced the price and for which we would consider reasonable offers. A Russian icon, Theotokos of Kazan, also Our Lady of Kazan, depicts the Theotokos Mary with the Christ, produced in wood, tempura, silvered brass oklad with cloisonné enamels on the nimbus. A most gorgeous porcelain bowl hand painted with green and pink fancy decorations around the rim of the bowl with a central vignette of two birds fluttering in a magnolia tree. The rim is edged with a mustard enamel. The condition is very good with some enamel loss in the bowl though not easily recognizable. This beautiful turquoise or robin's egg blue goblet is elegant and timeless. Its tall urn shaped bowl sits atop a short stem with globular knop. There are no seams which suggests that it is hand blown. While it is unmarked it is believed to be made by the highly regarded German-French glass maker Vallerysthal & Portieux. My glass expert believes that it dates to c. 1930, although I have reason to believe that it may be earlier.

A goblet, presumed to be made by Riverside Glass Works as early as 1906 as pattern number 593. It has a caramel color, not a common find.

Please be aware that this pattern is known by several names such as Old English Colonial, Blucher, and Colonial, in part due to the change of ownership of the molds, during the first quarter or so of the 20th century, during which three companies owned them. These fine porcelain ewers are made in a neoclassical style with a slightly flaring base supporting a bulbous body whose neck narrows before ending in an elongated spout. Tall dramatic handles are attached to the vase. Rich cobalt blue panels alternate with white ground spaces each having simple floral embellishments surrounded by gilded swirls and scrolls. Majolica wares were all about representing nature, and this gurgle fish pitcher is no exception. These fish pitchers came in a number of variations, most of which dealt with color schemes and minor design differences. This pitcher, we believe, represents the cream of the crop in a number of respects, the first of which is the gorgeou color, the primary one being the rich nearly forest green glaze which scales to mint green. It has been a long while since we have offered a Massier duck for sale, due in no small part to their rarity. This duck was expertly modeled in the studio of Jerome Massier around the turn of the 20th century using the vivid and, in this case slightly iridescent glazes for which he and his cousins were justly famed.
