Lost wax cast bronze Christ. Probably original wooden cross. The fine quality sculpture is certainly the work of a good artist. It would be interesting and profitable to find out who it is. I don't know much about European art but the sculptor who thought of this bead of skin above the nail hole of the feet was not a simple craftsman. Beautiful cast , neat scraper finish. This is an antique ecclesiastical illustrated manuscript, in Latin, from earlier centuries, commonly called an "antiphonal" or simply an antique manuscript. These are normally seen as hand painted manuscripts on vellum (animal skin). Small Christ in cast bronze, traces of gilding. French medieval 13th century. The bronze has a beautiful old patina, there is very little gilding left. He wears a loincloth and an Egyptian headdress. A stylized flower appears to be drawn on his belly. It was mounted on a gilded wooden frame probably in the 18th century. Height of Christ alone 95mm. Good condition, no repairs, normal wear for the period, beautifull original patina.

A lovely large brass alloy / bronze vessel, dating to the late 17th. cent. probably 1680-1710, workshop Nürenberg and maker was Johann Windhösel - Leuchtmacher and cappucine munk in the city in that period.

Russian wooden egg, lacquered in black and painted. One side with an orthodox cross and the other probably depicting St Basil’s cathedral in the Kremlin in the late 19th century. It might also show the then newly erected cathedral of the Assumption in Omsk. Height "4 / 10.5 cm. Condition: the painted decoration is flaking, as is the black lacquer (cf. pics).

Antique 19th century Russian Orthodox Christian brass traveling triptych folded icon" Deesis with Selected Saints."
