A beautiful early 17th century silk floss textile embroidered with a variety of flowers in a panoply of colors. The central section has larger and more elaborate examples, while the borders have smaller meandering flora. Most probably of Italian origin.

The condition is quite fine, and the dimensions are 67" by 16". This wonderful piece has been part of my collection for 25 years and has not been previously shown or offered.

A wonderful exemplar of an Italian voided velvet textile, done in a deep red. Similar examples are shown in "European Textiles in the Keir Collection 400BC to 1800AD".

The overall condition is excellent, and the sight size is 21 3/4" by 8 1/2".

A fine 17th century French tapestry table runner, with the motif weaving flowers and fruit throughout the piece. The overall condition is excellent, with no holes or tears. Carefully laid down on a linen backing. The length is 67" and the width is 13 3/4".

Acquired from a long time private collection, where it was used as a table display piece, but could certainly be used, in smaller segments, to make a number of exquisite pillows.

A fine example of a textile fragment from a 17th century chausable, purple cut velvet in a geometric vine design on a yellow background, mounted on silk. Overall fine condition, with a sight size of 18" by 18 1/2".

An exceptional and rare Italian cut and voided velvet panel, probably Genovese, done in a dark green on a beige foundation. The motif features mythological animals and urns, all surrounded by foliate scrolls.

The condition is quite fine, even for a textile 250 years younger. The length is 64 1/2", with a width of 10 1/2".

A superb piece for display or use as an accent, and should appeal to collectors and decorators.

A beautiful example of Victorian bead work, this was originally a purse. Now without a frame, this double sided stylized oval shaped Czechoslovakia glass cut bead design is composed of richly colored purple plum, lavender, gold, bronze, brown and charcoal black floral bouquets on tree limbs made up of horizontal and vertical rows of bead work, original brown silk lining, beaded fringe. Easily restored, might also make a lovely center applique on a special pillow, dress or jacket...

A large cotton pieced log cabin quilt that is slightly asymmetrical with nine rows to the height as in the picture and eight rows of squares wide all surrounded by a red border. The radiating dark and light bands (barn raising) from the center are not actually centered in the quilt, but start in the lower center as per the pictures. Fashion perfect for riding in a one horse open sleigh, this is an original Victorian black silk velvet cape, circa 1890's, featuring silk applique detailing along the front bodice creating a border around the entire cape. A frilly double ruffle black silk ribbon ruff collar is inset with handmade black lace. Silk ribbon attached around the collar creates a bow in front of the neck hook and eye closure. A design of a green cross with all sides equal enclosed in a rectangle on one point with red steps and green saw teeth in rows and columns of five against a background of light and dark blue checked fabric. Geometric quilting of waves around the outside and rectangular quilting in the other light squares. Great printed cotton backing.

Condition: May never have been washed as the blue chalk lines for the quilting are still visible...

Lovely antique Victorian lace fan with hand carved bone ribs and guard. Kept under protective glass against a soft pink velvet background and framed in an aged-style white wood frame. In excellent condition, it measures 28ʺW × 2ʺD × 20ʺH

Circa 1900, a large needlework panel done in petit and gros point of a dog sitting on a stool in front of a window and bordered by various floral panels. Colors are cream and varied tones of reds, browns and tan. In a museum quality antique tiger maple frame with gold gilt liner and a wood panel back, it measures 23 x 26". Embroidery sight size measures 17.5” x 20.5".

A very large and fine example of the designs created by Edward Sands Frost for hooked rungs in the latter part of the 19th century, featuring a King Charles Spaniel in the central oval, surrounded by a garland of flowers and scrolling elements, colors still vivid, professionally mounted on frame with backing. This mid 19th century folk art crazy quilt is a wonderful mix of richly colored silks and hand embellished surface stitches. The back is a green cotton sateen fabric tied with floss. Eighty seven silk tags create a whimsical border around the entire piece. Taken from a house used as part of the Underground Railroad during the Civil War, we believe this piece was the energetic work of a child learning how to sew. A large silk satin fan, with sixteen gilt decorated wood "sticks", hand-painted depicting four birds amongst flowering prunus or cherry branches. This item is made with Chinese silk but was probably made in France and was retailed in Liverpool - unusually complete with its original box which carries a dispatch date of 9th November 1898. This is a richly colored hand dyed cotton antique American Folk Art floral hooked rug in shades of cream, beige, brown, gray and red comprising a centered diamond with scattered flowers and leaves.
