Dated September 4th 1832, this lovely needlepoint saying titled "On Virtue" is surrounded with intricately embroidered flowers. In a bird's eye maple frame it measures 19.75" x 16.5", sight size 15" x 11.5". In very good antique condition, the background has darkened some with age (the first 2 photos showing the frame is most color correct.) Please note that the textile is not lighter on the bottom, it is a reflection as well as other light colored reflections coming from the glass.

A double Irish chain quilt with printed cotton fabrics of red and green chains against a background of black spots on white cotton. The front is turned over to the back to make the edge. The quilting is simple diagonals.

Condition; excellent, never washed.

Good colors and pleasing design makes this an attractive quilt.

A vintage child's pair of kid leather and suede shoes with wooden buttons c1900. These high-side shoes are still soft and supple with only surface creases on the (slightly soiled) leather. The buttons are painted, and the suede soles have a branded 0 on the bottom. They are stamped 0 D660 on the interior, they are 4-3/8" long and 3" high, and they are in excellent condition with no losses, damage or repairs...

A fine example of a textile fragment from a 17th century chausable, purple cut velvet in a geometric vine design on a yellow background, mounted on silk. Overall fine condition, with a sight size of 18" by 18 1/2".

This Sisters' bonnet is black bonnet was probably for special occasions. Over the black silk is a fine black mesh even over the neck ruffle. The bonnet is lined with purple silk that was meant not to show as it is inside the bonnet and the underside of the neck ruffle. It does have some wear around the front edge of the bonnet where the material has pulled away a bit. The netting has some area on the neck ruffle that are rough but in general is displays well...

This is a Japanese antique Boro shibori and katazome hanjyuban jacket textile Edo period (1800－1867). The sleeve part natural Indigo dye cotton katazome. The body and back are silk safflower dyed shibori(Tie-dyeing) . The collar and lining are cotton. The fabric on the collar is a very nice Edo period cotton. A nice, vintage pair of 2-7/8 x 2-3/8" handmade kid leather gauntlet gloves c1900-10. These gloves have decorative stitchwork and pink dyed hightlights. They are unsigned and they are in excellent condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than some minor bleeding to the pink dye. Three portions of an antique linen dress, elaborately embroidered and embellished with crochet work in wool. Two arm sleeves, one undone and the chest area. Condition: partially little discolored, old mend, traces of usage. Provenance: old Swiss collection. Lace collar, probably linen. Was offered for sale in 1908 in London by the Windsor auction house, appraised by a certain Mr Knox as being a rose point lace, Venetian work from middle 17th century or a later French copy from the period of the reign of Louis XIV. The lace is kept in a wall display frame, it is placed on a Chinese silk background with secret embroidery, visible only in raking light. On the back of the frame is stuck the original of the expertise...

An antique traditional women's folk costume headdress from Bavaria called "Priener Hut". The outside covered with black velvet, both sides with a pair tassels worked in gold wires, frippery and glass beads. The underside of the hat brim with splendid goldwork in gold and silver wires decorated with glass beads. The sides with the long, often missing, embroidered velvet and silk ribbons. Green silk lining and maker's label "Therese Allinger - Hutgeschäft - Obing"...

A wonderful early woman's pocket made from a roller print with the colors of madder, brown and mustard. It is backed with a homespun linen fabric. All hand sewn. The front of the pocket is lined with the same linen homespun and the back. The fabric is fragile in some of the black areas where the tannic acid dye has weakened fabric. It is priced accordingly and is by no means falling apart. It is 13 1/2" top to bottom and is 5 " across the to and 9" across the bottom...

A fine and rare example of the antique 18th-19th century "kupka - kupke," a cap worn by well-to-do religious Jewish women on the Sabbath and holidays, Poland, 18th century.

A fine multicolored velvet ikat from Uzbekistan, carefully mounted on acid free fabric. The condition is quite fine with one very small area with some thread separation, and the sight size is 20 1/2" by 15 1/2".

An exceptional and rare Italian cut and voided velvet panel, probably Genovese, done in a dark green on a beige foundation. The motif features mythological animals and urns, all surrounded by foliate scrolls.

The condition is quite fine, even for a textile 250 years younger. The length is 64 1/2", with a width of 10 1/2".

A superb piece for display or use as an accent, and should appeal to collectors and decorators.

An interesting fragment of Victorian needlework, the somewhat shiny black (chintz, silk?) fragment of an irregular shape, later laid on a dull black linen backing to attempt to match the color, the final result currently round and 12 1/2" diameter, and 19 1/2" on a side in a new square frame (in excellent condition) with clean mat. The design includes a butterfly, daisies, pansies and other flowers, and grasses gone to seed...

A girl's or woman's silk cap embroidered with flowers, highlighted with polychrome sequins. Edged with gold lace, linen lining and silk ribbon loop. Condition: traces of age, patina. Dimension cap closed: c. 23.2 cm high x 14.3 cm wide.

The design of this sitting mat from the oasis of Khotan in East Turkestan is closely related to a larger rug published by Schürmann, which shows the same motif in a design of two compartments. – Many rewoven sections in the pile, restored ends, new overcasting along the sides. Needlework sampler, 22 1/2" by 17" (26" by 20" framed), the design incorporating the alphabet, floral motifs, a heart, four paired figures and a house. Condition is excellent, the colors not faded. This would date to circa 1970's; a so-called "Paragon" kit available at the time. Nice decorative piece for the Americana or folk art setting.
