A fine 17th century French tapestry table runner, with the motif weaving flowers and fruit throughout the piece. The overall condition is excellent, with no holes or tears. Carefully laid down on a linen backing. The length is 67" and the width is 13 3/4".

Acquired from a long time private collection, where it was used as a table display piece, but could certainly be used, in smaller segments, to make a number of exquisite pillows.

Antique Persian Safavid textile brocaded with silk and gold. Lined with a later 19th century brocade. Approximately 26" square.

A design of a green cross with all sides equal enclosed in a rectangle on one point with red steps and green saw teeth in rows and columns of five against a background of light and dark blue checked fabric. Geometric quilting of waves around the outside and rectangular quilting in the other light squares. Great printed cotton backing.

Condition: May never have been washed as the blue chalk lines for the quilting are still visible...

Rhoda Symonds was born in Essex, Massachusetts in 1768 and moved with her family to Hillsborough, New Hampshire in either 1772 or 1773. Antique flannel dog filled with grain or sawdust that makes him feel like a bean bag and allows him to stand nicely. He has big bead eyes and replaced floppy ears. The original ears must have been further back where you see a white patch. That patch is white flannel that hasn't gotten dirty. From our Indian Subcontinent Collection, a fine 19th century Lahore carpet featuring wool on wool construction, utilizing a vibrant palette dominated primarily by various blue on blue hues, accented with burgundy, taupe, cream, lilac and green.

Size and Condition: 11 3/4 feet x 8 3/4 feet. Great pile throughout, strong coloration with only slight oxidation...

Fabulous homespun black wool blanket with the best bittersweet color stripes at both ends. It is very soft and in very good condition but not mint. It has a later hand sewn edge on one end that is coming loose in a couple of places and there are a few small thin areas. It is 68" by 60" and it makes quite a statement. It is not as early as the center seam blankets but it makes up for it in looks.

A pieced cotton quilt in a pattern called, “Goose on the pond” probably from the mid-West and made in the late 19th century. The pattern is made up of pattern printed blue, orange and white fabrics. The same orange fabric is used throughout, but the blue and white are made up of different prints. The quilting is diagonal lines. Cotton seeds in the stuffing visible through the back. Front edge turned to the back. All hand stitched. 72 inches square.

A large cotton pieced log cabin quilt that is slightly asymmetrical with nine rows to the height as in the picture and eight rows of squares wide all surrounded by a red border. The radiating dark and light bands (barn raising) from the center are not actually centered in the quilt, but start in the lower center as per the pictures. Needlework sampler, 22 1/2" by 17" (26" by 20" framed), the design incorporating the alphabet, floral motifs, a heart, four paired figures and a house. Condition is excellent, the colors not faded. This would date to circa 1970's; a so-called "Paragon" kit available at the time. Nice decorative piece for the Americana or folk art setting.

This is a pair of linen homespun pillow cases that are more like show towels. The linen is very finely woven, the pulled thread work, borders the top and bottom of the name and date. The embroidered name and date is done in a wool floss and has not done as well with use as the body of the pillow case. Her name is Barbara Wismer, I think, and the date is 1829. A striking quilt in a deep red and black. Most importantly the quilt has, stitched on its reverse, "Sarah amd Anne Hoit, Burlington, VT 1838". It also has, stitched at a later time, "A Present to O. Sherman 1881". It is very uncommon to find a quilt, especially such an early one, with such complete information as to the maker, place and date. The piece is approximately 82" square, with the cutouts being 16" square.
