Rare Chinese Export Roll Top Lap Desk, Asian Hardwoods with ebony and brass mounts having single lower drawer that when opened reveals a fitted interior, sloped writing surface and "pop-up" storage compartment with tambour doors. Circa 1830.

Federal Mahogany swell front chest of drawers. Yellow pine and poplar secondary woods. Maryland, probably Baltimore, 1790 to 1810. This chest is similar in ways to an example in "Furniture in Maryland, 1740-1940", Weidman, 1984, item #77, page 123. On both, the top conforms to the bow front case, projecting a bit beyond the case. And both have nicely formed French feet, inlaid banding on the drawers and above the skirt, and inlaid chevrons centering the escutcheons...
An absolutely perfect 19th century cranberry glass encased with sterling silver cut work perfume dresser bottle. American, it dates circa 1890 and measures 6 inches high, 2.5" diameter.

This pair of antique Chinese scholar book cabinets is a rare find. They are made of beautiful Jichimu wood and they are adorned with original bronze hardware, which adds to their charm and authenticity.
The cabinets are in excellent condition and have been well-preserved over the years. They are perfect for storing books, documents, or other precious items. Interior bottom floor doubles as a cover for a secret storage area below...
Burma or Mandalay Bronze Buddha circa 1720 Gilding still mostly intact measuring 3.25” (Quillen)
A fine old antique gold frame of the 19th century, measuring 27" by 34" by 3" depth, the inner rabbet 18 1/2" by 25 1/2". This frame certainly at one time held a fine painting; there is some hint of there having been a placard. Weight is an impressive 20 pounds; the wood used I believe is heavy oak. There is much evidence of age, moderate wear; but it is in keeping with the age and antiquity of the frame. Currently there is a modern print of a Picasso work inserted into the opening.
Fine Antique English Canterbury in Walnut, having four pierced partitions with “C” scroll carved decoration above a single drawer and raised on turned ball form feet with brass casters.

An antique Japanese large Osaka Todana Tansu (storage chest) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Hinoki (Cypress) wood. Two large sliding doors opens to a spacious area for storage. Mitered corners with mortise and tenon joinery and side slats incorporated for strength and support. Original bronze hardware.

Antique Japanese Kyushu Choba Tansu (merchant chest made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware with a combination of slider and drawer layout. Beautiful original warm lacquer finish. Overall in very good condition.
Merchant chests were proudly owned by shopkeepers and served a dual purpose. The obvious one is a chest to store the business records, books, valuables, and office supplies...
A very interesting carved and gilded wood panel, found here in Southern California, origin unknown. There are remaining traces of gilding and to a lesser extent, possibly polychrome paint. I have found no writing/labels, and frustratingly, there is no further information traveling with it. The piece measures 15" by 32". I am wondering if it might be of American origin, although in my mind I think it could be French. The wood seems to be pine...

From our European Collection, a charming Rococo sofa, early 20th century circa 1900-1920, probably French, executed with lovely curvilinear lines true to the style, with hand-carved shell-shaped and floral motifs executed into the wood frame, and finished with an elegant but understated two-tone gold on gold damask fabric. The fabric is not original, but is quite likely a re-upholstery job from the 1950's or so, and has survived wonderfully since then...

Fine Early 19th Century New England area Hepplewhite style Federal sideboard. Mahogany veneer with what appears to be chestnut secondary wood. Exquisite gilt brass rosette pulls, notched cross banding inlay, reeded columns with turned legs, and a unique & quite large bin like center drawer flanked by a cabinet door to the left and a large drawer to the right, as well as 3 standard drawers. An exceptional and timeless sideboard, in traditional early American taste.
A pair of antique Chinese Horseshoe chairs made of solid Zitan wood. They each feature a 3 section S-curve back splat with floating panel seats and a front that has an apron with a cloud motif and a foot stretcher. The back splat has symbol carvings related to the boar.

Beautifully made walnut American Victorian night stand with marble top. Made and signed under the marble by R. Renwick & Son of Baltimore, Maryland. R. Beautiful early cherry two piece corner cabinet with the top door having 12 panes of original glass (one pane has a very tiny crack at the bottom of it). It is all mortise and tenon construction, and measures 88" tall 43" wide x 27" deep. Other than the one small crack in the glass it is in perfect condition and ready to go into your home.
