This collection of old tortoise shell spoons were used by the Chinese herbal practitioners for gathering and mixing ingredients for Chinese medicines. This is a consignment piece and as a result is a little out of my area of expertise. I am told that it is a boar spear from the middle ages, circa 15th century. It was found in Germany. It is very large, approximately 45 cm in length and is decorated on both sides of the blade. The socket has two tangs that are in line with the blade edges. An ornate Victorian SP ink stand with ink pot, drawer and pen rest 1860. A wonderful mid-Victorian silverplated ink stand with a Feb. 20, 1860 registration date. This 11-1/2 x 7-1/2" stand features a pottery inkwell in a domed lidded brass holder mounted on the deck, which also has a brass pen rest. Besides the ornate hand-engraving, it also has a copper military button mounted with a screw and bolt. The shoulders have a high relief vine and berries design and it has scroll feet...

Back in the days when pills were made by hand, a pill rounder such as this (sometimes called a pill finisher), was used to create perfect pill spheres via use of a circular or figure-8 motion. The pill then would be dusted with powder, ready for dispensing by the apothecary.

Made of light-colored fruitwood (treen), this handsome tool of the trade has two different recessed depths used to finish or create, two different diameter pills.

Offered are three, desirable, circa 1910-1920 era, smooth face, hickory shaft golf clubs. Although smooth face golf clubs fell out of fashion and perhaps function by the very early 1900s, they were still offered in catalogues for a number of years beyond this date.

Antique Chinoiserie gilt bronze clock. The clock has a beautiful lady adjusting her earring while looking in a hand-held mirror. She is ornately clothed in Chinese-style attire. An exceedingly RARE and all-original, commanding group photograph of 1880's NURSES with a bit of the mysterious - might be depicting recent graduates of a nursing program with male and female head instructors or may be a photograph of hospital staff nurses with head nurse and administrator/physician.
