I have seen and collected many bird celts and axe-gods over the years. This one ranks near the top for the type. A choice and very charming collection of 6 bronze spatels or spoons with animal finials, baboon, monkey, rat, pelican, dog and bird. Late Moche or Chimú, 800-1200 AD.

Pin-shaped bronze coca spoons (also called lime spoon), was used to measure lime powder in order to enhance the hallucinogenic properties of other drugs.

They are costum mounted to a large plexi block and it seems to be a nice way to display them.

Tlatilco is noted in particular for its high quality pottery pieces, many featuring Olmec iconography and elaborate hair styles. This head of a large dog or fox like animal from a larger figure. Interesting little lot of pre-columbian pottery antiquities, ca. 600-1200 AD.

Lot consists of a nicely engraved spindlewhorl, a cure and intact pottery bird whistle, a stone head and a scarce pottery mould for casting a head.

The head is ca. 7 cm. wide for comparison.

Ancient Pre-Columbian unusual effigy vessel with a burnished surface, Mesoamerican civilization, circa 300 BC-400 AD, Nayarit region.

This pre-Columbian Chancay bone flute is from the central coast area of Peru, 800AD-1200AD. It is 6" long and has four holes on the top and one on the bottom. The knuckle is carved with a very nice frog and two serpents/snakes along the sides. It is in beautiful, solid condition with superb patina. A real no-brainer. I purchased it on October 12, 1989 from HD Enterprises.

Pre Columbian Tripod Bowl With Mammiform, Rattle Supports - Atlantic Watershed Zone Period V, A.D. Earthenware: Red Slip Paint - Costa Rica Bowl with flaring rim and three large, mammiform supports. Size Dia 4.5" H 2.25"

Measuring 3" in height, this cast bronze ceremonial knife dates to the period from 700-1000AD, and is from the South Coast of Peru. The upper border consists of a serpent bodied creature with fanged heads at both ends, each wearing a spiked crown. Deeply incised deity heads appear in profile at the top of each side of the blade. The piece has acquired a beautiful blue-green patina. An intact suspension loop is visible at the top,as shown in the photos.

Exceptional Type 10 Mezcala Figure. 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" CA. 1500-300 B.C. This very mint gray stone figure has no modern day chips or marks, it does have the classic upper top of the head fracture area. This figure has a very nice plumpness to it. It comes with a custom made black metal stand. Mineral and root marks over all.

This extremely rare 6 1/2" angular owl effigy pipe was found by Dr. Allen Heflin in 1958 at the Tzintzuntzan, Michoacan site in Mexico. It is type 3A. The pupil of the right eye is missing. This is truly a fabulous pipe of which only a few exist in private collections.

This is an extroadinarily rare Aztec ceramic pipe. There are only 3 others of this earliest type known to exist. It was found by Dr. Allen Heflin on 12/2/60 in Cuautitlan, Mexico. The end of the stem has been broken off and appears to have been glued back on. This is not the prettiest of the 4 pipes I have listed, but it is the oldest likened unto Paleo vs. Archaic. I have what I believe to be the largest and finest collection of Aztec pipes in private hands.
