This is a socketed iron spear from the ancient middle east. This was part of a lot including Bactrian and Luristan artifacts. I do not have an exact cultural attribution for this piece but it is similar to pieces from northern iran in the early part of the first millenium BC. It is 39 cm long and weighs 316 grams. It is intact with no evidence of repair.

Seal pendant or amulet, finely carved in a zoomorphic style, as a head of an animal, possibly made to ellude a pigs head, Mesopotamia, Uruk - Jemdet Nasr period, 3500-2900 BC.

A wonderful amulet with refined polished details and a nice archaic grit pattern in the base.

Recent research clearly indicates that highly advanced city cultures allready existed in the Ubaid period of Anatolia and Syria in the early 4th. millenium BC and perhaps even before that. This predates the Mesopotamian Uruk period, so it's a question who inspired who?.

Authentic, ancient, cast bronze Etruscan hand mirror. It dates back to Etruria (Italy) around 350-200 BC and is in a typical Etruscan form with a tapered stem handle. Unguentaria are small ceramic or glass bottles frequently found in burial contexts. Their most common use was probably as a container for oil. The unguentarium is sometimes referred to as lacrimarium (tear-container) or balsamarium (balsam-container). All three terms reflect different assumptions about their use.

The collection consists of several medical tools and pins with knob finials, a scarce Roman Iron citizens ring (intaglio lost), a miniature amphora, a massive suspension ring with torquise patina, a very nice roundel fibula and a nice intact fibula, perhaps pre-roman.

An interesting ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1200. It is 7/16” long (11 mm) and made of Jasper, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

The panels with extraordinary depictions of a gender-based division of labor.
The hunting scene shows a naked man with a spear grasping at a bird hidden behind a large ivy leaf which may represent the forest grove.
On the other side a woman with diminutive head and outstretched arms. Assuming that plants are denoted by contouring dots, she is standing next to three trees in her garden.

Roman fragment with a tabula ansata inscribed DOMIN[A] VICTOR[IA], an acclamation translatable as “Lady, victory (is yours)!”
The inscription is connected to Saint Thecla, whose upper arm and blurred hand appear below.

This is a quaint little spear or dagger from the Bactrian culture dating to roughly 2000 BC. It is 126mm long and weighs 26 grams. It has a very interesting, rounded leaf shape. It is flat and undamaged. It has a wonderful malachite patina. This belongs in your collection.

Ancient Pottery wine pitcher LATE BRONZE AGE, 1550 – 1200 B.C. good condition no apparent restoration good paint or slip traces as well as burial encrustation . Size H 7.25" W 6" Old East coast collection early 1970s

This is an Achaean archer's arrowhead that was crafted in bronze using the V-shaped tanged technique. It belongs to the type VIII b category and dates back to the Bronze Age, which lasted from 1500 B.C. until the final phases of the Mycenaean period in 1100 B.C. Ancient Greek archers commonly used this type of arrowhead during the Trojan War.

A fine cylinder seal of a very large and thick size for type and carved depiction, Mesopotamia, somewhere around 3000 BC.

Nice symethric style in high relief within concenthric borders. The seal looks to be inspired by the style of the Jemdet Nasr, but to us the carving looks like there's an Archer is shooting a bow against an animal and another animal behind, highly stylized.

SizE: 30 mm. tall and c. 18 mm. wide, so the seal delivers a very long imprint.

Bucchero ware was the distinct local pottery type of ancient Etruria. The black clay was created reducing the supply of oxygen in the smoke-filled atmosphere of the kiln.

A lovely large scarab, probably made in Canaanite lands of the Levante, Early New Kingdom 16th.-15th. century BC.

A beautiful carving of a large Lion attacking a rather small feeble Human with a spear. The Lion is here probably meant to represent the Pharao and the human, could be a Levantine warrior? Very well carved base and with carvings on the back as well.
