This is a socketed iron spear from the ancient middle east. This was part of a lot including Bactrian and Luristan artifacts. I do not have an exact cultural attribution for this piece but it is similar to pieces from northern iran in the early part of the first millenium BC. It is 39 cm long and weighs 316 grams. A finely carved cylinder seal in black stone engraved with a scene of worshippers or deities making offers, Neo-Assyrian, c. 9th.-8th. century BC.

Very detailed carving with shows the deities on either side of the tree of life and a vessel on a small stair or table, perhaps an alter. Crescent and star above.

Size: 22 mm. tall.

An exquisite ancient Roman marble head of Aphrodite, C. 1st - 2nd Century AD

Depicted with a serene expression on her face, her head tilted and turned to the right. The long thick waving hear centrally-parted falling in tresses. Shapely lips and small rounded chin. Her heavy-lidded articulated eyes set beneath a defined brow.

A beautiful larger silver bowl, Sassanian Empire, 300-600 AD.

The Sassanid Dynasty, was the the last native Persian Kingdom to rule Ancient Near East before the Islamic conquest.

An attractive hammered silver bowl, with an scetchy incised animal in the center of the interior and multible concenthric lines around. It looks like a simple bird, but it needs more cleaning to be certain!

A fine cylinder seal of a very large and thick size for type and carved depiction, Mesopotamia, somewhere around 3000 BC.

Nice symethric style in high relief within concenthric borders. The seal looks to be inspired by the style of the Jemdet Nasr, but to us the carving looks like there's an Archer is shooting a bow against an animal and another animal behind, highly stylized.

SizE: 30 mm. tall and c. 18 mm. wide, so the seal delivers a very long imprint.

Etruscan bucchero olpe with ovoid body, truncated conical neck and lightly flared lip. The strap handle arching from rim to shoulder. Standing on a low ring base.
Bucchero ware was the distinct local pottery type of ancient Etruria. The black clay was created reducing the supply of oxygen in the smoke-filled atmosphere of the kiln.

A lovely large scarab, probably made in Canaanite lands of the Levante, Early New Kingdom 16th.-15th. century BC.

A beautiful carving of a large Lion attacking a rather small feeble Human with a spear. The Lion is here probably meant to represent the Pharao and the human, could be a Levantine warrior? Very well carved base and with carvings on the back as well.

A set of two very decorative Islamic tiles with floral motifs in fine colours, Qajar or earlier, c. 17th.-19th. cent. AD.

Unresearched but guaranteed at least from the 19th. century, probably older. With fine crackles in the glaze and a wonderful brownish patina on the backside.

Size: Each c. 14,7 cm. tall and 9 cm. wide.

Condition: Extremely fine! An intact pair.
