Well carved from a single piece of boxwood, good details and fine patina. H 20 x L 13 x W 9 cm ca. Condition: minor repairs/filled and minor losses as well as a few thin drying cracks. A fine casted Chinese Bronze Guanyin statue from the Ming Dynasty 明朝 (1368-1644) with rests of gilt and a still readable Yongle mark. It comes together with a lacquered wooden stand.

Description:

An ancient stone beast was in nice mood.
In twisted body posture, the beast or dragon with bulging eyes, wide mouth and extruding fangs was supposed a peaceful animal by the pattern on his back, a swirling TaiChi cloud.
The sculpture was well preserved except the abrasions down under due to age.

Date: Song/Yuan Periods, 12th/13th Century.

The frames are identically carved with Dragons, Phoenixes, Buddhist Lions, Bats and Sacred Pearls, evolving in the middle of clouds, flames and waves. The quality is exceptional, the details are complex, precise, meticulously carved and the cabinetwork finish is perfect. This high quality leads us to believe that these frames were made in southern China, for example in Canton, rather than in Vietnam...

In abstract form, a pair of stone tiger weights of Han dynasty was preserved in original excavation condition.
Covered all over the surface with adhering earth coatings, the images of recumbent tigers were still revealed by the silhouettes.
Han-Bar-Dao, a typical carving skill of Han Dynasty was used on two of the pieces.
In simple and clear carving skill, the images of two tigers were vaguely and subtly rendered...

A very large and superb quality bronze figure of Shou Lao, the God Of Longetivity, also called the undying, China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD).

The bronze figure with the well-known features of Shou Lao, in a wonderful Ming Dynasty style. The Stick and hand was cast seperately to the figure, and afterwards mounted as was costum during Ming Dynasty with the more difficult casting processes. A filled casting flaw on the back is also from the time of the making and typical for the period...

Natural fan shaped lingzhi fungus scholars viewing object. Naturally hand worn patina with natural tone and shine. Relaxed open fan rippling shape sitting comfortable on stable flat base.

Budai is the Chinese "Père Noël" ,the Japanese calls him Hoteï. He carries toys in a big bag and distributes them to children who adore him and are sometimes represented at his side. The god is seated, his half-open robe reveals his large belly, a symbol of his generosity. He holds his rosary in his hand. Oddly enough his big bag is missing. It is sculpted from a beige steatite ( soap stone) stained with pink, on the skull appear red veins of the stone...

17th/18th C Chinese hardwood carving of Quan Yin. Beautifully carved with nice elegant lines, this statue has a wonderful patina than only comes with time. In very good condition there are a few age cracks which do not affect the integrity of the piece. There is some glue residue on the bottom where she was attached to an old lamp base. A Ming cast-iron figure of Vairocana, the Dharmakaya Buddha, the most important of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, the one from whom the other emanate from; his name means "luminous" or "embodiment of light”. He is sitting on a lotus throne, holding his hands in Abisheka Mudra (consecration gesture). On the back side there is a dedication: donated by the Li family. Ming Dynasty, 1368–1644. H. 27. Condition: Very good but with few casting mistakes on the back
