This Ge glazed dish is at least from the early Qing Dynasty but most probably the piece is older. Like all our pieces also this piece is genuine, the body of the piece is in a perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The only problem of this extremely rare excavated piece is that to the outside the surface of the glaze during hundreds of years was heavily attacked by aggressive soil. This old Chinese stoneware ceramic pipe bowl (smoke chamber) would have been placed onto the smoking pipe to allow for a small piece of opium to be smoked. The tiny opening at the top would allow the smoke to be drawn into the stoneware chamber and cooled before being inhaled by the smoker.

The piece has 2 different makers marks which are clearly stamped into each side of the clay underside of bottom hole.

A green glazed "celadon" stoneware vase with flattened pear-shaped body,ring handles and moulded decoration made in the Longquan kilns, Zhejiang province in the 14th Century, during the Yuan dynasty (1279-1368). On each side of the vase are six-lobed cartouches containing the Chinese characters "shou" (longevity) and "fu" (prosperity). Porcelanous stoneware with a molded decoration covered with an elegant pale gray glaze. Yue Ware ( Yueyao ), Five Dynasties to Song Dynasty, tenth to eleventh centuries. Diameter : 9,8 cm. Condition : Perfect

It is beautifully potted in an ovid melon form with in a transparent icy green glaze, with the rounded side tapering to a short foot. The qingpai glazing which is uneven, fall short of the short foot-rim with a recessed base.

There are no repairs or restorations. There is some minor firing fault, degradation, glaze crazing and minor losses as shown in all the photograps. Minor scattered oxidise spot as shown in all the photographs...

The most important first : This piece is not from Ancient Dragon House and not from Roy Hu´s Asian Art ! A very small Song Junyao bowl with slightly rounded sides and incurved rim covered with a grayish-blue glaze with an very nice splash of purplish-red to the interior of the bowl. There were many hundreds of smaller Tang Dynasty Changsha bowls on the Belitung wreck, but just very very few larger pieces of the same kind. This is one of these extremely rare larger pieces. By its extraordinary large size despite its glaze degradations this piece appears extremely decorative. A " must " for any Belitung - collection. Diameter : 20,9 cm. H : 8 cm. Northern Song ( 11th - 12th century ) The lustrous and glossy black glaze on the fine white body of this extremely rare piece are characteristic of the finest " Ding " vessels developed in the Dingzhou kilns at Quyang, Ding county, Hebei province in the Northern Song period. H : 4,2 cm. Condition : When examined with a 10X lense there is to see a very fine hairline to the body which is nearly invisible with the free eye, further in a perfect condiion.

Geyao cup in a very nice Song Dynasty inspired shape. Seventeenth century. The brown clay to the base seems to be the original grey stoneware which turned to a dark brown during the firing process. It seems not just to be a brown slip which covers the unglazed body to the base which would be typical for Qing pieces their intention it is to pretend a Song Dynasty piece. Diameter : 5 cm. A stoneware bottle with an very decorative Guan-like glaze. Although the shape of this rare piece is clearly a Song Dynasty shape reference images from a reputable Chinese porcelain site point to a dating to the Ming Chenghua period. Since there is a copyright to this reference images I cannot show them here. H : 10,8 cm.
