Rare Tibetan antique skull drum called a damaru (or damru). Two skulls make up the two sided drum connected in the middle. Two small beads at the end of thin cords attached in the center beat the drum when it held upright and twisted. A stunning oversized and very elaborate Tibetan silver ewer with gilt brass fittings and decorations, 19th. century AD.

The lavish piece probably a commission for a very wealthy family or a temple. The ewer of fairly high grade hammered silver with elaborate mounts and scroll-work in gilt brass and silver. 17th Century Tibetan Green Tara Thangka, 49.5 x 29.5 inches, 126 x 75 cm. Most of these thangka were photographed through glass frames, so there may be a little blurriness. This thankga was in an exhibition at the University of Texas Art Museum.

Dhyangro drums are usually separated from their phurba (ritual dagger) handles, and the handles are sold by themselves. This is a common occurrence with Nepali dealers. Very rare heavy hardwood mask, with strong features in relief, an incised sacred trident on its forehead (the traditional weapon of Hindu god Shiva), round metal added eyes, large nose and mouth. Rare, antique, 18th-century Mughal period, huge made of black lacquered hide, Indo-Persian, Indian shield (Dhal).

An interesting saddle bag possibly made from the hide of an ibex or mule like animal. A very good quality antique Himalayan Nepalese large ritual bronze lamp Sukunda, 18th century, Nepal, Newar tribe Kathmandu Valley.

A very fine quality antique 19th century, Islamic, Indo-Persian, lacquered papier mache bowl of lobed circular form, with a scalloped rim on a raised circular foot. It has 26 lobed petals superbly hand-painted in gold and various pigments with flower sprays, foliage, and teardrop-shaped paisley motifs. The lower rounded body is finely hand-painted with floral sprays and perching birds (gul-o-bulbul, roses and nightingales). The interior of the bowl is fitted with a brass lining.

Finely crafted silver necklace with Gao box hanger in solid silver mounted with polished corals and toquise stones and centrally firegilt, Tibetan, 19th to early 20th. century.

Very pure silver and wearable today. Mounted in a long twisted silver necklace. Beautiful piece!
