A rectangular repoussé box, decorated with peony, floral sprays and Buddhist symbols. The sides decorated with meanders, the back with floral motives and a ‘Shou’ character, symbolizing longevity. Antique Tibetan Buddhist small reliquary in stupa form. Carved of quartz crystal in two sections with traces of gold leaf, this votive offering would have once been housed in a larger container and placed at the foot of an architectural stupa acting as either a funeral mound or housing relics of an important person. Antique, Islamic Multan Sindh,19th century India, a baluster-shaped pottery vase with a trumpet neck. Hand-painted in cobalt blue, turquoise, and green with floral vines and acanthus motifs on a white background under a rich, thick, clear glaze.

This is a Tibetan Ritual Celestial Crown also know as a Diadem or Ringga. It is worn by a necromancer or oracle during rituals. The "crown" consists of 5 separate paintings on paper and each painting is backed with thin cardboard for stiffness. The sections are connected with string. When worn, the crown is tied around the head with string. The sections are painted with the five Dhayani, celestial Buddhas, each painted with his traditional color and gesture...

From our Indian Subcontinent Collection, a fine 19th century brass surahi (water flask) paired with a large Kashmiri flashed-silver over lacquered-brass undertray, also 19th century. These two pieces were not originally part of a formal set, but we find that they make for an attractive and logical pairing. The surahi is of traditional form with large bulbous body, splayed foot, and long tapering neck...

This is a fragment from a Tibetan gilt copper mandorla, one of the side pieces that would have surrounded the central statue/figure. It measures 9-1/2" in height and is 3" at its widest point. The design, as the photos will show, is in four registers, with the Buddha uppermost. The workmanship is of excellent quality as, hopefully, the photos will confirm. There is a tiny split in the left edge so that the top panel could become detached if the piece were handled roughly...

Ensemble of vintage silver and ancient banded agate beads from Sri Lanka. These were acquired in Kandy in 1998 or 1989, the banded agates are all hand carved and are at least 1000 years old (conservatively). 19th century Indian bronze devotional sculpture of Daksha with a head of a goat and his hands in the anjali mudra. Daksha was the father of Sati, the wife of the Lord Shiva. Shiva have not been invited to a great sacrifice to be performed by Daksha. Feeling greatly humiliated on behalf of her husband, Sati went to the banquet and threw herself on the sacrificial fire...

Pichhwai, temple painting, of Radha and Krishna in the Garden, Kishangarh Style, this Hindu scene of the God Krishna and his beautiful consort, the Goddess Radha takes place in a lush garden. The sacred mountain rises up behind them and as the two figures embrace at the opening to a cave.

Salt box with its lid, of rectangular shape, decorated with incised geometric design on its sides, and geometric, partly in relief, design on its lid. An opening on the lid allows a spoon (now missing) to rest inside the box. Nepal, 19th century. Length: 18,7 cm. Height: 11 cm. Some erosion due to age, otherwise very good condition. Collected in Nepal in the early seventies.
