Rare Antique Museum Quality late 16th or early 17th century, circa 1600 A.D. (1009 AH) Antique Indo - Portuguese Indian Mother Of Pearl Bowl Islamic Mughal India. A cup of rounded form on a short brass foot with narrow brass rim, formed out of perfectly joined tapered sections of mother-of-pearl plaques, radiating from a central disk, and secured by metal pins.

Small architectural element decorated in relief with Vishnu, in his other name as Anantashayana (meaning "reclining on Ananta"), resting on the many-headed serpent-king called Ananta "the endless". Vishnu is holding the conch ("shankha", symbol of the five existential elements) in both hands. Wood, with fine glossy patina. Nepal, early 17th century, maybe earlier. Height: 6" (15,2 cm). The relief is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Erosion due to great age, otherwise good condition.

A very attractive votive image of Akshobya Buddha in fire gilt bronze. He is seated on a fairly high, lotus throne. The hem of his robes are accentuated with raised lines made as strings of pearls with the lower parts decorated w. incised patterns. The robe covering the left arm is open underneath and the rim of the seat has large pearls in accordance with 15th century stylistic features for Central Tibetan bronze images of Buddha...

It would have been carried in a pocket or worn hanging about the neck by the leather thong...a personal amulet or talisman meant for protection. Tibetan Repousee raised Silver on Burlwood Tea Bowl, Tsampa Tea Bowl, Ca. early 1900, 4 3/8" diameter-top rim, 2 5/8" high, 2 1/2" diameter-bottom rim, smooth silver lining over the top of the Burlwood rim, raised intricate hand hammered design on the side, continue on with intricate silver work over the high raised foot, and cover the entire sunken bottom with large Silver Conch Shell. This is high quality Tea Bowl, the condition is good.

Rare, antique, 18th-century Mughal period, huge made of black lacquered hide, Indo-Persian, Indian shield (Dhal).

The shield has a circular convex form and an ornate brass medallion at the center. The medallion features an engraved, hand-sculpted, low-relief image of the Hindu deity Hanuman.
