A splendid and unusually large tetsubin decorated with geometric patterns with peonies and butterflies set within a frame. This piece is a collaboration of two major artists. The body has a seal by the kama-shi or tea kettle maker, Okuni Jurou, and the lid is signed by Kinryudo. Okuni Jurou, along with his father Okuni Toubei were famous for their skill and artistry during the Meiji and Taisho Periods. Condition is original and excellent. Size: Diameter 9.5" Height 14"

Incredibly charming Japanese bronze incenser in the form of a floppy eared dog, with a curly tail and and a real bell handing off of his neck. A pierced lid comes off of his back to place incense inside, which would then pillow forth from the mouth. Original natural patina from antiquity. Early Edo period (1615-1868) Size: 7" H x 7" L x 2.5" W

This realistically cast Meiji period bronze vase is 13 1/4 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter at its widest point. It depicts an eagle resting on an old tree. There is a stamped maker¡¯s mark on the bottom which reads ¡°Hidemitsu¡±. The owner purchased this piece from Sotheby¡¯s in the early seventy¡¯s. It is in excellent condition.

Heavy, pure silver box with gold, silver, and copper inlaid bronze plaque inset in lid. The bronze plaque depicts a scene of dragonflies amidst autumn grasses. The grass is both incised and raised. The seeds are all inlaid gold. The dragonflies are raised above the surface with silver wings and copper bodies and the smallest dragonfly is inlaid with silver and copper. The sides of the box are incised with floral medallions and the base is raised on four solid silver feet...

Antique Japanese bronze mizusashi with lid, decorated with waves. The mizusashi is a vessel used during the Japanese tea ceremony to hold water. The body of the container has a dragon's head on each side with a bronze ring. The lid is decorated with a band of waves, the handle is rounded. Meiji period, 1868-1912. True original bronze Vessal It measures 10" tall with lid, 6.5" wide at opening 11" at widest point (dragon to dragon handle).

Pair of bronze vases with mixed metal inlay of motif of herons perched and flying near a willow tree. The vase contains the inscription: Dai Nippon Kyoto Ju, Ikkodo Bunryu Atsuyoshi. Trans: Residing in Kyoto, Japan Ikkodo Bunryu Atsuyoshi followed by a kao or a distinctive signature of the artist. A magnificent and rare Amida Nyorai bronze Buddha, made in the early Edo Period, which means in the early 17th. century. This statue was made in a way called lost-wax metal casting, also known as Rougata Chuuzou, which was popular only in the 6th. century and in the Edo time.

The statue is in good antique condition with no repairs or cracks.
