Rare sterling silver bracelet designed and signed circa 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist artist Antonio Pineda. Bracelet measures 7 inches long and 1 inch wide and weighs 100 grams or 3.5 oz. Fully hallmarked with Antonio's crown, TAXCO 970 & Sterling and eagle. Beautiful vintage condition with no dents, dings or repairs. Antonio designs are included in the permanent 20th century Mexican silver collection at LACMA in L.A.

This is one of Matilde Poulat's most loved designs. It has become so rare to find one of her earliest pieces of the fish dangles that I am offering an MS-12 Matl Salas signed and hallmarked for after 1980 fish design. Salas worked with his aunt since she opened her shop. She died in 1960 and Salas continued with her shop producing the master pieces that we love. In earlier centuries, large numbers of "holy men" wandered throughout India's cities and countrysides. The Sadhus were respected as Hindu ascetics who had given up family attachments and material possessions often including clothing. Without shoes and wearing only hand hewn sandals they would wander about some silent and some preaching. Miss matched, this is a typical pair of Sadhu's sandals, hand carved and well worn and polished through years of foot contact.

Matilde Poulat was known for her reliquary silver work. She made beautiful crosses with ornate chain and statues adorned with stones. This cross and chain necklace has the block letters MATL on both the chain and the cross center piece. The chain measures 21 in. long with the drop being 2 1/8th inches tall. This is an old Chinese carpentry tool. It was used the same as today's carpenter's "chalk line". The bowl would be filled with powdered charcoal and the string would be pulled through the bowl, and a straight line would be snapped. The string would be rewound by tuning the "crank handle".
Older carpenters frequently made their own tool and the carving on this one is very well done, a dragons head floating in a wave pattern. Note the hand made string...very rare...

pre Colombian beads sitting on a dish of sterling silver with sterling chain and beads make this a striking wear anywhere necklace. It is of Mexican origin and is slightly before or at the beginning of the Mexican Silver Renaissance. Rare Chinese Six Dynasties Painted Pottery Fuxi & Nuwa (AD 220 - 589)
This rare pottery model of Fuxi and Nuwa was made during the Six Dynasties period (AD 220 - 589). It is solid pottery and takes the from of a two-headed snake with two feet at each end. It has been "cold painted" with a creamy-white pigment, traces of which still remain.
Fuxi and Nuwa are, according to Chinese legend, the ancestors of human beings...
