Measuring 9 inches high, this delightful example of Folk Art styling, is one of a series of Black cloth character dolls made in Alabama in the 1930’s by unknown craftsmen/women. It has been speculated that their creation was encouraged through FDR’s Depression era program, the Work Projects Administration (WPA), in existence from 1936-1940.

Very attractive vase of Meiping form with broad mouth above scrolls enamel motif, standing on the small foot rim with lotus petals in underglazed blue, decorated on the shoulder with fine relief of the 'Dehua' dragons among 'Jindezhen' enamel key-fret pattern, beautifully collaboration between both kilns to this vase. Rare eye catching pair of sterling silver cufflinks designed & signed c. 1949 by Taxco, Mexico artist Valentin Vidauretta (1902-55). Each link measures 1 1/4" across X 3/4". The pair weighs 23 grams. Valentin also designed for Hector Aguilar at Aguilar's Taller Borda as well at Spratling and Antonio Pineda. The links carry Valentin's hallmark along with the eagle 9 assay mark.

Large Chinese Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) high-fired gray-black pottery bottle-form vase with geometric incised designs of unusually fine form. 11 1/2"H. Very good overall condition with minor wear. One thin old chip to the foot.

Description: A Zitan cup was well carved from one solid wood trunk.
Being decorated on two handles in bamboo form, the Zitan cup was well hollowed in a round shape and was in a plain form.
By excellent carving skill, the bamboo stalks were vividly imitated and being as good handles.
It was preserved in long time of age and already owned the enduring old purplish-black patina.
Overall condition was great when some old cracks were observed.
Some abrasions were at the bottom too.

This proud fellow stands 14 1/4 inches (36 cm) tall and is 8 inches (20 cm) from wing tip to wing tip, and 7 inches (18 cm) deep to the tip of his tail. An Edwardian diamond and pearl ring set in 14Kt yellow gold and decorated by two old-miner diamonds with I color and SI2 clarity and the approximate total weight of 0.70Ct. The side stones consist of two single cut diamonds and twenty-four rose diamonds will bring the estimated total diamond weight to 0.80Ct. The ring is further decorated by a larger 5mm oriental pearl and two smaller 3mm pearls. The smaller pearls may be oriental pearls as well. The top of the ring measures 13/16” X ½”.

This rare pair of antique Japanese Samurai stirrups date to the mid Edo Period. The are inlaid with bits of abalone shell. The cut-out below the buckle appears to be the a representation of the trifold Asarum leaves, which was the mon of the Tokugawa shoguns.

There is some loss of abalone shell and there is a crack in one of the foot pads. But they are a gorgeous example even with these condition issues.

An Art Nouveau sterling daisy flower purse handle chain from the 1900 era. This 16-3/8" chain consists of oval daisy flower cast sterling silver links which are 3/8" wide. Originally on a late Victorian purse, this chain has two large loop for mounting but it could easily have a clasp added for use as a necklace (or a doubled bracelet).
