A spectacular sterling silver bracelet based on Jensen's famous "Dove" design this piece was made by Norseland in the 1940s-50s period. Owned by Coro, Norseland was the trademark for which the company reserved their best quality silver jewelry, pieces that usually emulated Scandinavian, and more often Danish, creations. It seems that Jensen himself purchased the "Dove" from Christian Mohl-Hansen, the Danish painter who created it around 1904-7, and then issued different variations using an ar...

Description: A rare bronze figure of a bear was in a cute squatting position. By unique image, the bronze figure was probably served as one of the legs of an archaic bronze vessel when hollowed bolt was found on the reversed side. One of Salvador Teran's most impressive creations, the "Dancers" are the epitome of modernist Mexican jewelry design. Not very easy to find and avidly sought after, it gives out a strong sense of motion and harmony that is very difficult to achieve. The necklace presented here is not signed by Teran and was probably made by one of his associates during the period that Salvador was also selling his pieces. I would say, however, that the craftsmanship and attention to detail is of the highest l...

I am assuming that Barrera must have been an early Mexico City maestro since most of his work that I have had is in the style closely associate with that city and Matilde Poulat's creations as well. The figural brooch I am presenting here illustrates the point I am trying to make in the best possible way - just notice the degree of relief in the...
