Description:

A Jizhou bowl was beautifully applied with whitish tortoiseshell glaze.
Sited on the characteristic shallow walled nearing flat foot ring, the bowl was slightly inverted on the mouth rim.
The body clay revealed at the bottom was in loosening-feel quality and was fired in light buff tint.
Molding scar was left at the foot ring too.
Due to long time of age, enduring old crackles were yielded in the glaze.
The agate-like glaze was in very fine condition...

A rare early Ming dynasty 15th century blue and white large bowl, rounded side with flared rim, straight foot and glazed base, bowl outer wall decorated with fine under glaze blue of butterfly motif in different position, center with reverse blue base and white conch motif.

Large English Victorian sarcophagus form tea caddy, fashioned of rosewood veneers with mother-of-pearl floral inlay to cover and front, resting on compressed ball feet. Two lidded interior tea storage compartments with traces of original tinning, but missing the original glass mixing bowl. Mid 19th century. Very nice condition, with some minor chipping at corners, tight crack on back, and with some inlay missing on cover and escutcheon. Size: 12 3/8" long x 6 1/4" deep x 7 1/2" high.
