A sculptural form covered in iconic Iga Kiln effects by Toyosaki Nobuhiko of the Korin-kiln in Mie prefecture enclosed in the original signed wooden box. On the convex shoulder, green glass pools crystalline, while a smattering of goma (sesame) ash clings to the bulbous side, gray charring and plenty of flying ash to fill in the blanks. A bottle decorated with biblical passages by Araki Takako fired at the kiln of Uchida Koichi enclosed in the original wooden box signed by KOichi. It is the introduction of Mary from the book of Luke. The slender bottle itself is very much in the style and color of Koichi, and one might venture to say he had a hand in its making. The biblical passage is the obvious work of Takako, and on bottom is engraved her signature. The vase is 23 cm (9 inches) tall and in excellent condition...

Ceramics decorated by Zen monks are seldom seen and this piece is no exception. A single character is boldly brushed in red enamel on gohonte tea bowl conveying the strong bond between Zen and the tea ceremony. The bowl is inscribed Longevity (Kotobuki 寿) and named Two Doves (Sōkyū 双鳩), and dates to the 1970s, when Seki Bokuō 関牧翁 (1903 – 1991) was well into his abbotship at Tenryū-ji, one of the most important, and certainly most beautiful, temples in Kyoto...

A multi faceted chawan by Hamada Tomoo coated in swipes of blue-salt glaze enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Wow! Here is a radical piece from deep in the embers of Sugimoto Sadamitsu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled simply Iga Hanaire. It is utterly simplistic in form with dramatic and complex kiln effect born from placement and the inferno. Spectacular, creative design in this sterling, 14k, coral, turquoise and lapis pin by avant- garde contemporary self taught Navajo jeweler L. Eugene Nelson.
