A stratified bloc of hollowed out Shigaraki clay by female pottery pioneer Koyama Kiyoko enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Shigaraki Shizen Yu Kaku Hanaire. Classical chawan in the Kuro-Bizen style by the late master potter, Isezaki Mitsuru. This chawan exhibits a blackened, charcol fired exterior with ash sprinkled about the face and covering the interior floor of the bowl. the foot is exceptionally well cut and very crisp and his mark is prominently featured in the interior of the foot ring.
