A large vessel by Shimaoka Tatsuzo enclosed in the original signed and stamped wooden box titled Shio-yu Zogan Jomon Tsubo. The artists famous Jomon rope impressions are visible in filled slip about the center,covered in salt glaze, resulting in a burnished blue,green and Yohen colors giving light to the heavy form. A beautifully potted piece!

A unique Yin and Yang vase splashed with two moons, one dark, one light, by Hamada Shoji enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Yakishime Kakiwake Henko. The Ma or use of blank space (here the Yakishime raw clay) is quite unusual for this Mashiko potter. Kakiwake refers to the application of two glazes separated.
