An exquisite faceted Bizen vessel by Ningen Kokuho Isezaki Jun enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Bizen Kuro Ana-kuri Hanaike (Formnig Holes Black Bizen Vase).
The form has been gouged and cut, slabs torn off and odd holes sliced into the sides and top. The clay is dark covered in rivulets of flowing ash, which wrap around like many fingers. It is breathtaking, and I am already jealous of the lucky soul who will get to keep it...

A superb example of the chameleon versatility of Matsuzaki Ken is this red tea bowl dolloped with thick white glaze enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kurogane Shino-Chawan. It is strongly formed, with russet iron highlighting the borders between the fields of red and white glaze. Truly a spectacular work.

Oribe is a visual style named after the late-16th-century tea master Furuta Oribe (1544-1615). Typically, black or green glazes are applied to asymmetrical clay bodies and light-colored windows are created using feldspar. These high-contrast areas then act as a canvases upon which abstract, minimalistic, and often naturalistic themes are painted.

The deep sides of this striking vase are covered in shades of lustrous orange tinged feldspar by master craftsman Kato Yasukage XIV enclosed in the original wooden box titled Shino Hanaire and signed by the 14th Generation Yasukage followed by his seal. The coloring appears as if the vase is still held in the whispering grasp of the flame, a bright yellow-orange which appears almost liquid in places.
