Porcelain Cube Bowl in the signature geometric style of Korean contemporary ceramic artist, Lee Min Kyu. The sides of the bowl seem to rise up straight, yet they flare outward ever so slightly. Porcelain Cube Tower Vase in the signature geometric style of Korean contemporary ceramic artist, Lee Min Kyu. The body subtly tapers at the top and bottom. The thickly potted blue sides are splashed with silver on this large sculptural vessel by important Kyoto artist Morino (aki) Taimei enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The vase is 11-1/2 inches (29.5 cm) tall and in perfect condition. Taimei was born in Kyoto in 1934, and was first accepted into the Nitten National Exhibition at a relatively young age in 1957 (a year before graduating the Kyoto Municipal University of Fine Art!)...

A very striking incised and wood fired vase by veteran omnibus potter; Imai Masayuki. This naturally glazed vase, hanaire, measures 9.25” X 3.75” and is in excellent condition with signed box. The surface of the vase is incised on either side with a sprig, or bouquet of flowers and is dusted by ash from the wood firing...

Unusual in its use of a base pattern beneath the color, here is a large Kutani receptacle by Living National Treasure Tokuda Yasokichi (Masahiko) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The tinge of yellow circling inside the rim is also a rare and highly sought feature in the artists work. The basin curves up, rising from a small foot with a steady graduation of both color and form inside and out, striking as it is perfect...

Jun was born in Osaka in 1951, graduating the Osaka City Industrial Institute (Metalworking) in 1969, upon which time he moved to the Kyoto Ceramics Research Facility...
