This large and rather colorful kohiki chawan was made by Ogawa Tetsuo a specialist in slips and Korean slipware of which this pot is a classic example. The surface of the teabowl shows off a wide array of colors and visual textures with areas of gohonde fawn spots and a translucent, waxy ash glaze coving the pot. The richness of the surface makes this a rather stunning piece by Ogawa with much more activity than seen in many of his teabowls...

Large porcelain bowl by Susan Filley (contemporary, working in Chapel Hill, NC). Signed "S.Filley" bottom. 13 1/4" across, 5" high. In excellent condition. Susan Filley is an internationally exhibited studio potter who has been working mainly in porcelain for over 30 years. Her works are in the collections of the Shiwan Museum in China, the Mint Museum in Charlotte, etc.

Tall and massive porcelain vase in the shape of a double gourd, the lower section squared. Decorated in overglaze, traditional Kutani enamels (yellow, blue, green, red, purple and touches of gold) with medallions with thistles, grapes, fruits, butterflies, crickets. Vintage sterling earrings by Angela Cummings. She left her 16 year association as a designer for Tiffany & Co. in 1984 to pursue her career as an independent designer. These beautiful earrings are signed by her and dated 1991 on the reverse of both earrings. They are 1 1/8” long, 1" wide and have clip backs. Weighing 24 grams, they are in fine original condition.
