These oval cuff links display a well known Mexican relic character (see pictures). They are very well crafted with a copper eye and azurmalachite on obsidian. They measure 1" x 5/8" x 1/8". They are in fine condition. The toggles are marked ALPACA (but the faces are silver).

This impressive 2 3/4" sterling silver cuff studded with 30 amethyst cabs was hallmarked c. 1940 by Manuel Altamirano, senior silversmith in Hector Aguilar's Taller Borda. Interior length measures 5 1/2" end to end. The gap opening is 1 1/2". Terminals measure 2 3/4" wide, center front is 2 1/2" wide. Weight 79 grams. The bracelet is in beautiful condition. See p. 198 of Silver Masters of Mexico for more detailed information on Altamirano. Pieces signed Altamirano are scarce.

This graceful sterling silver ring is formed as a stylized snake with an impressed band starting at the head and tapering to the tail. The impressed area is nicely oxidized and decorated with contrasting circular elements, one of which serves as the snake's eye. The patina is soft and is nicely enhanced by the oxidation. Made of gilded sterling silver, this lovely pin features intricately applied bands to imitate wirework in a scroll design. The pin is set with a pink coral-colored glass cabochon that exhibits minor wear at the very top. It has a very secure C-clasp and is marked sterling on the back. It is conservatively dated to around 1960 (could be earlier), and is possibly Asian. It measures 1 1/8 inches across.

A forged wire pendant composed of drops of various lengths is attached to a chain of shorter, peaked forged bars linked by securely soldered rings. The necklace has a nice heft, but it quite comfortable. The back bears the circular impressed Mexican silver mark with central maker’s initials of possibly OBC, and the eagle 1 mark. The necklace measures 19 inches long unclasped; the pendant drops 4 ¼ inches. Weight: 56.1 grams

This delicate, charming silver gilt bar pin features lavender guilloche enamel work surrounded by a thin border of black enamel and a milligrain-like textured edge. Three circles of white enamel grace each end of the pin. The pin bears the mark of Marius Hammer, Bergen, Norway (1847-1927), and dates to the early 20th century. The original C-clasp has been expertly replaced; the piece retains its original pin stem. It measures 1 5/8 inches long by a little over ¼ inch wide at the center.
