A fine color gouache landscape drawing in the Old Master 17th century style, the imagery including feathery trees, old classical buildings, a roaring river, mountains, and two tiny figures at center. There is no signature though on the old backing in an old hand someone wrote "Claude" (an acknowledged and widely recognized reference to Claude Le Gellee Lorrain (c. 1600-1682), a highly important French classic master of such scenery)...

Painted in watercolor on organic material, this fine example of Wood's work depicts an older man with blue eyes and pigtailed hair dressed in a black jacket with gold buttons, and a white vest and stock. Housed in its original case, with the glazed reverse having fancy hairwork over a on a white glass backing.

A finely painted watercolor portrait of a good looking gentleman wearing a black jacket and a white shirt, stock and collar. The talented artist specifically painted the entire piece in shades of white, black, and gray. The miniature is housed in a period, heavy gilt bronze frame which in and of itself has a good amount of intrinsic value.. Neither the painting nor the frame have any condition issues. Sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 5/8", with a frame size of 5 5/8" by 3 1/4".

An uncommon miniature portrait, done in oil on copper, of a member of a Scandinavian royal family. The gentleman, wearing a red coat and blue tunic, is shown 3/4 length in a field.

She is wearing pearl earrings and a cream gown with a pair of roses at the low point of the neckline. There is a lace fichu with a double blue line at the border...

Unframed oil on canvas, 54" by 35", unsigned, the work an antique (likely 18th century, possibly earlier?) copy of the great TITIAN (TIZIANO VECELLI, c.1488-1576) altarpiece "Assassination of Saint Peter Martyr", 1528-1529, of the church of SS Giovanni e Paolo, Venice, destroyed in the 19th Century. A 1691 copy by Johann Carl Loth now hangs in its place. This truly antique survivor shows its advanced age...

According to Sotheby's London old master specialists, this painting is an ANTIQUE copy of the major museum work "Stormy Landscape with Philemon and Baucis" by artist SIR PETER PAUL RUBENS (1577-1640), one of the major figures in European art history. The original is presently in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, Austria...

An oil on canvas painting, 36 1/4" by 26", (44 1/2" by 34" framed), relined circa mid 20th century, no apparent signature present, nor attribution available. The weave of the canvas suggests a work pre-dating the 19th century. The painting is reminiscent of Italian Renaissance imagery and strongly suggestive of Italian origin.. I acquired the work at an estate sale held at the Los Angeles home of E! Entertainment, Comcast CEO, and most recently NBC Broadcasting Chairman, Ted Harbert...
