19th Century American, "Landscape with Waterfalls". This is a very fine Hudson River School landscape, oil on academy board, 9 3/4 x 18 3/4 inches, c. 1880s, unsigned, in an ornate period gilt frame. Although this painting is unsigned it is quite well painted, evidently by a very competent artist.

Oil on canvas, this lush painting of poinsettias measures 30" x 24" (sight size), with a frame that is 3 1/2" wide. The artist is Marise London, a Florida artist from Sarasota who had an art gallery there from the late 1970's til it closed in 2006. According to the previous owner of this painting it was said to have been painted in the 80's, possibly early 90's. A nicely done miniature, on natural wafer, of a gentleman in a black. The reverse of the case is a beautiful example of repousse work, and has an aperture with hairwork within.

The painting is in good condition, with no chips, cracks, or inpainting. The case is in excellent condition and measures 2 1/2" by 2".

A charming and beautifully painted landscape done by George W. Drew (signed lower right) in the early 20th century. The scene depicts a country path following beside a river and wending around a wooden house. Adding to this idyllic scene are ducklings on the path and a woman in front of one of the cherry trees surrounding the house, The wonderful luminosity that Drew is well-known for is apparent in this work.

The painting is 36" by 24", and the fine period frame is 43" by 31"...

A totally charming miniature painting of a child, done in watercolor on natural material, and housed in an elaborately molded 15K gold case and surround. The cute sitter is in a white gown and posed against a cloud-filled blue sky, with foliage and a tree to the right. The reverse of the case is glazed, with a lock of hair in the aperture, and a pin so that the miniature can be worn as a brooch.

Though it is difficult to date, I suspect it is from the middle of the 20th century and most likely to be American.

A fine American miniature portrait of a young woman with sausage curls, wearing a lace cap and fichu, with a black dress with black dots. The watercolor painting is done on natural wafer, and enclosed in a period cast bronze foliate case with a glazed aperture on the reverse.

The miniature has no chips, cracks, or bowing. The painting slipped slightly in its case when I scanned it, but this is easily adjusted. Sight size is 2 1/4" by 1 7/8", while the case size is 2 3/4" by 2 1/4".

Continental oval miniature painting, "Dolores", depicting a young beauty with flowing hair and large hoop earrings, signed 'Wagner', captured in an oval gilt frame within a rectangular frame with velvet lining, and titled in graphite verso, plaque 3.25"h x 2.5"w; frame 6'h x 5"w. A colorful set of African scenes. The medium appears to be oil on paper. Two are signed by Gallin, one is signed Bonnaie, another Hona (?)and the last Dzio(?). The frames show some wear and chipping and one picture is missing its glass but is protected by a plastic sheet.

A Rare/Fine Korean Water Color Painting by Won Suk Yeon(1922-2003): “ A Young musician playing a Korean traditional musical instument in Royal cout dress” Korea, circa 1960s, framed, and painted on paper elaborately, and signed the artist’s round seal ” in Korean stamped on the lower right.. The measurements; 12 3/4” x 17 1/4”. Framed It’s in very fine condition without any noticeable damages at all.

DESCRIPTION: Oil on canvas painting of a Mexican pueblo (or village) by artist R. M. Domez. The multi-story adobe structures with slanted roofs are seen in the escaping light of an approaching storm. Frame is carved wood and gilt; dating from the first half of the 20th C. and in excellent condition. DIMENSIONS: Sight: 23 1/2" wide (59.6 cm) x 18 3/4" high (47.6 cm). In the frame: 29" wide (73.7 cm) x 24 1/2" high (62.2).

An excellent example of the work of David Gibson, signed, lower left, "Gibson 1793". The sitter is a woman wearing a gown with low decolletage and a green and yellow hat. She is posed looking pensively to the viewer's left.

The painting is in excellent condition, with no flaws to speak of, and is in a gilt metal pendant case. Sight size is 1 7/8" by 1 3/8", and the case size is 2" by 1 5/8".

A French portrait miniature of a woman done in watercolor on natural material. The sitter, clearly a woman of means,is dressed in au courant fashion in an elaborate white lace hat, a blue ribbon at her throat, and a white lace fichu over her blackish green dress.

On the backing of the painting is written in ink (at the time the painting was done) in French, the name of the sitter "Antoinette Francoise Garison," some other information, and that she was born on September 20, 1773 (see photo #4)...

A charming and well limned naive miniature portrait painting on organic wafer. The sitter is a nice-looking young man attired in a black coat with brass buttons and the lapels with blue embellishment. Hi has a white shirt and stock, a high collar, and a yellowish gray vest. Housed in a cast foliate case with a rear glazed aperture containing cross-braided plaits of hair.

Condition is excellent, with no cracks, bowing, paint loss, etc. The case condition is also excellent. Sight size is 2 5/16...

An extremely well painted miniature portrait of a very handsome young man. The sitter is dressed in the traditional black coat and cravat, white shirt with a high stiff collar, and a stickpin. The portrait, on natural organic wafer, is housed in a 14K or higher gold case with a glazed rear aperture showing a lock of hair. Condition of the miniature and case are excellent, with no issues at all. Sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 3/4", and the locket size is 2 1/4" by 1 7/8".

A beautifully painted miniature, on organ material, of an older woman dressed in a dark dress with elaborate ruffled collar, a lace fichu and hat, the latter two with incredibly detailed brush strokes. Excellent condition with no issues. 2 1/2" diameter.
