The artist depicts a bird's eye view looking east towards the Bay Bridge and Ferry Building, from the top of Nob Hill, on which sits the opulent Fairmount Hotel...

Engraving on paper, the sheet 16 1/8" by 19" (18" by 20 1/2" as framed), the subject a bewigged magistrate type at his desk, surrounded by a salon of 18th century folk, the title line underneath beginning with "Here Justice Triumphs in his Elbow Chair.......". This is a moralizing work by one of the most famous satirists and social commentators of all time, WILLIAM HOGARTH of England (1697-1764)...

This etching with aquatint by the German artist, Johann Gottlieb Theophilus Amadeus Prestel, measures 12 5/8 x 18 1/2 inches, 1784, in two colors on green paper, plate signed and dated, after Parmigianino, artist info on backing, thread margins all around.

Edgar Chahine 1874-1947 French This is an original etching by French artist Edgar Chahine. The image is pencil signed and titled: La Basilica de San Marco, Venice. This is a finely printed example on a laid type sheet. The image measures 12 1/2X8 1/4 inches. It is numbered as 35/100. There is a stamp or collectors seal at the upper border. Richly printed with fine use of plate tone. This impression was created and printed in 1923.

A very fine engraving by the 17th Century artist Hollar measuring 5”. 7” and framed size is 11” x 15”……. Winter is one of the most recognized works of Bohemian engraver Wencesclaus Hollar (1607­–1677). It is the final image in a series of etchings portraying each of the four seasons as embodied by a female figure. In Winter, the woman is almost entirely covered by layers of furs and warm fabrics, staving off seasonal frigid temperatures...

A vintage woodcut print in black with touches of yellow and red in the windows of the picturesque seaside structures, unsigned, titled in the image "NOEL", white speckles (sprayed?) indicating snowflakes, 12 1/2" by 9 1/2" framed. The scene resembles Maine villages such as Port Clyde or Castine. Likely a work from that region, circa 1940's, possibly 1930's. I opened up the backing and found no further information.

If you are a decorator looking for a "look" without spending the bigger money, here is an interesting option: a PAIR of works (11 3/4" by 22" framed) that for all the world, look like antique Italian watercolors of the 19th century, featuring coastal ruins and boats in Naples waters with Vesuvius in the distance, and a coastal scene with Capri offshore...

Jacques James Joseph Tissot 1836-1902 French Original etching and drypoint by French artist of the Belle Epoque era, James Jacques Tissot. The title is: L'Ete, this image was created and printed in 1878 in an edition of 100 unsigned proofs. The image measures 14 3/4X8 3/8 inches. Printed on a cream toned laid paper. The sitter is Kathleen "Kate" Newton (1854-1882), Tissot's Irish muse and mistress from 1871-82. Tissot portrayed her as a personification of summer in this etching...

Charming Original photograph of smiling village children by the famous photographer, Si Cho Ko. From Taiwan, Si Cho Ko has traveled and exhibited extensively including the National Art Museum of China in 2007. Si Chi Ko is the first Taiwan photographer to hold a photograph exhibition in the Chinese mainland...

A winter scene print by noted watercolorist and illustrator, Howard Watson. Watson was the "Artist in Residence" at the White House during the Carter Administration.There are tiny thumbtack punctures at the very end corners of the print(not impacting the print and not visible). Professionally framed, the print measures approximately 23" x 20" (probably larger but not measured out of frame). The frame itself is 28-1/2" x 25".

Benton Murdoch Spruance, American, 1904-1967, "Set Pieces: Vanity of Trust," lithograph, image size 13 x 18 1/2 inches, 1949, edition of 30, pencil signed, titled and editioned. Spruance studied in Paris after winning the coveted Cresson Scholarship in 1928 while attending college at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. He studied with Edmond and Jaques Desjobert in Paris before returning to the US and continuing his nearly forty year career as a printmaker.

Edmund Blampied, British, 1886-1966, "En Promenade", etching, plate size measures 8 3/8 x 11 7/8 on 11 1/2 x 17 1/4 inch laid type paper. A richly inked, atmospheric print. Drypoint from 1932. Signed in ink below the image. Inscription in lower right reads: "Impression selected for my friend Harold Bailey - E. Blampied" 1/100.
