A vintage woodcut print in black with touches of yellow and red in the windows of the picturesque seaside structures, unsigned, titled in the image "NOEL", white speckles (sprayed?) indicating snowflakes, 12 1/2" by 9 1/2" framed. The scene resembles Maine villages such as Port Clyde or Castine. Likely a work from that region, circa 1940's, possibly 1930's. I opened up the backing and found no further information.

This work is signed by the artist lower right and is titled lower left "Portuguese Jewish Cemetery 11th Street N.Y." This is a view of an ancient Sephardic cemetery in New York, or rather of what was left of it after most of it was destroyed by road construction...

Lithograph on paper, 13 1/4" by 18" inside the mat (20" by 24 1/4" as framed), signed "J Floch" at lower left and numbered "19/50", the subject an interior with two female figures, a table and window at right. This is a beautifully drawn work, showcasing the talents of this artist in lithography. His prints and drawings (see one in my shop) are quite affordable, while paintings have brought to the $80,000 area at auction in Europe and America...
This is an original etching by Reginald Marsh (American 1898-1954)of Minsky's Chorus, the famous Burlesque venue in New York City. The original painting of this scene is in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum. The original shows a reverse scene.
The sheet size is 10 1/2" x 14 1/4", with the impressed image size of 8 7/8" x 11 3/4". The paper is heavy, textured, with a slight cream hue.
As is visible in the photos, there are losses to the margins on the right and at the bottom...

Thomas Hovenden was born in Cork, Ireland, studying at the Cork School of Design before emigrating to the US at age 23, enrolling at the National Academy of Design in NYC and working as an illustrator for Harper's magazine...
An elegantly understated print featuring spindly trees in a strangely empty landscape with one small structure, signed in pencil at lower right corner and numbered 146/260 at lower left, by the noted American contemporary artist ROBERT KIPNISS (1931-). Kipniss is known for his graphic art and for his paintings, which have gone into five figures at auction. He was born in Brooklyn and was taking art classes at the Art Students League as early as 1947...

From the first edition, printed posthumously by Berkley Chappell, and signed by Black's widow Elaine. No lifetime edition exists. cf. The Lost Works of Wendell H. Black, plate 26.
A fine 20th C. print variously titled Red Fuji; Fine Wind; Clear Weather, and Gaifû kaisei, originally create by Japanese wood block artist Katsushika Hokusai, c. 1830 as part of the monumental 36 Views of Mount Fuji. Although this print has not been examined outside of its frame, it appears to be in superb condition with bright vivid color...
An original lithograph print, "Le Peintre et son Double" ("The Painter and his Double"), 1981, from the publication Derriere le Miroir, edition of 15000 with the original center fold, Mourlot ref. #992, by iconic Russian-French-Jewish artist MARC CHAGALL (1887-1985). The print is unsigned; measurements inside the mat are 14 1/4" by 19 3/4" (19 1/2" by 25" framed). Condition is excellent with no foxing.

This is an original chiaroscuro wood engraving, done in two blocks, black and grey. The title is Eggemoggin Reach, created and printed in 1940 in an edition of 250 signed proofs. The image measures 6X10 inches, hand signed lower right in pencil. This wood engraving was published by Associated American Artists in New York. Very fine condition.

This is one of the finest mezzotints by the important French artist James Jacques Tissot. The title is: Le Banc de jardin (The Garden Bench) It was created and printed in 1883. This was a rare first state impression prior to the lettering added at the bottom edge. This work is pencil signed and inscribed as "1st state" Also with the artists red stamp in the lower left. Printed in a sepia toned ink the image measures 16 1/2X22 1/8 inches...
A vintage early 20th century photography of a dirt road bordered by thick vegetation, with hand coloring applied to the trees and elsewhere, signed and blind stamped at lower right by the noted pioneering Oregon coastal photographer, FRANK WOODFIELD (1879-1955). The piece measures 9" by 11" in its circa 1920's frame. A little internet research reveals that this is by an Astoria, Oregon-born entrepreneur who was introduced to photography in 1910 by one Elmer Alan Coe...
