This is a fine wood engraving from the end of the 1920's by well listed American printmaker LYND WARD (1905-1985). The work is from the 1929 woodcut novel "God's Man" by Ward. Measuring 6 3/8" by 4 1/2" inside the mat (13 1/2" by 11 1/2" as framed) this print is by an artist well recognized today especially for his achievements in the graphic arts and illustration art...

This Francisco de Goya etching was published as a frontispiece to the 1922 Delteil edition of "Le Peintre Graveur Illustre". In beautiful original unframed condition.

This work is signed by the artist lower right and is titled lower left "Portuguese Jewish Cemetery 11th Street N.Y." This is a view of an ancient Sephardic cemetery in New York, or rather of what was left of it after most of it was destroyed by road construction...

Poster from the year 1981 for the exhibit "In + Out City Limits: Boston" exhibition of photos by the famous, important contemporary American artist ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG (1925-2008), **hand signed** in red marker at lower left. The poster measures 25 1/2" by 19 1/2" (33" by 26 1/2" framed--no glass). Rauschenberg, according to the askart listing, is "one of the major artists of his generation, credited with Jasper Johns of breaking the stronghold of Abstract Expressionism"...

Miniature sized etching (2 1/2" by 3 1/4", and 7 1/2" by 8" framed), titled in margin at lower left in pencil "Cape Cod Shoreline", and pencil signed at lower right by Massachusetts listed artist MARGARET ELDER PHILBRICK (1914-1999). This is a mid-century work, I would guess, by a woman artist who was known for still life and landscape works, primarily in the etching medium. She was a member of the Society of American Etchers, and the Brooklyn Society of Etchers...

This is an example of the MARC CHAGALL (1887-1985) lithograph "The Tribe of Joseph", from The Jerusalem Windows series of the early 1960's. Measurements are 12 1/2" by 9 3/4", so, this is I believe from a book, and it is much smaller in size than the edition of 150 pencil signed version of the print. It is however a true lithograph and not a dot offset print. I examined this out of the frame (and it is loose under the mat currently, floating)...

This is an unframed lithograph print of a female nude in an interior suggested by a door and bed headboard, 23" by 29", signed in pencil illegibly at lower right and numbered there 49/97. I think the work American and have tried various likely signatures such as "Czech" or "Bech" without determining who the artist might be---I am pretty sure that it is a listed artist. The print is unframed and can be easily rolled in a tube for shipping...

A circa 1920's etching of the Woolworth Building in New York City, the print signed in the plate and then pencil signed at lower right margin by American artist F.W.W. HOPPE. The artist did leave behind a number of etchings of New York scenes, but there seems to be a lack of biographical information on him or her. The print is in brown ink on a thin paper. Measurements inside the present mat (no glass) are 9 1/2" by 5 1/4" (14 1/4" by 9 1/2" in thin strip frame)...

This is an exceptionally fresh example of the 1969 print "Summer", approximately 18" by 24" (25" by 32" framed) by the famous modern artist ALEXANDER CALDER (1898-1969). The print is protected behind Plexiglas, in a black shiny laminated frame. On the reverse is a certificate of authenticity from the Collectors Guild of New York...

The print (8 1/2" by 9 3/4" inside the mat, 15" by 20" as framed) is a very detailed etching typical of the meticulous style of the artist, renowned for his prolific printmaking. Popular and rare images by the artist, of New York City scenes, can sell for five figures. He traveled widely in Europe and architecture, especially Gothic architecture, especially revered by the artist, was a favored subject. This print is of a Gothic style building in Princeton, New Jersey...

This is an original lithograph by the famous French artist MARC CHAGALL (1887-1985), titled "Le Clown Fleuri" (Clown with Flowers), 1963, from "Lithographes Originales de Marc Chagall", printed by Mourlot. There was a signed (1962) edition with margins, and examples sell between $6,000 and $12,000 at auction (size significantly larger). This appears to be from the unsigned 1963 edition of 2,000 examples, which were of this smaller size. The colors are fresh and the work is in fine condition,...

Original lithograph print, 13 1/2" by 10" inside the innermost of three mats, 21 1/4" by 17 1/2" as framed, the title "Le Ballet: Daphnis et Chloe", printed by Atelier Mourlot, 1969, in an edition of 10,000, as included in Drawings and Watercolors for The Ballet by Jacques Lassaigne, published in 1969 by Tudor Publishing. This is classic Chagall imagery, poetic and dream-like. Note the pipe-playing goat at lower left. All photos were taken through the non-glare glass, which should be discard...

One of an edition of only 50, a scarce to rare lithograph of the year 1912, "The Jungle", signed and titled at lower right margin in pencil by the important American etcher, illustrator, critic, author and teacher JOSEPH PENNELL (1857-1926). The print measures 20" by 23" and the frame is about an inch wide on a side. The artist needs little introduction, as he was one of America's most prolific graphic artists, having produced many, many etchings and lithographs, not to mention watercolors, oils...

An example of a lithograph print after the famous 1924 painting "Dempsey and Firpo" by the highly important American artist GEORGE BELLOWS (1882-1925). The print is apparently not from the artist and printer-signed edition of 103 which brings upwards of $25,000 when offered at auction. This appears to be a later, posthumous example. The image measurements are 17 3/8" by 21 3/8" (sheet 17 3/4" by 21 3/4") and 25 1/2" by 29" framed. Bellows is among the very top tier of historical American art...

A circa 1950 artistic black and white photo of the docks at Monterey, California, pencil signed on the mount as "Edna S Deuren" or similar. The gentlemen standing at left with fedoras and cap are looking down on the small fishing craft at a time when Monterey's fishing industry was in high gear. Measurements are 9 1/4" by 7 1/4" (photo itself) and 20 1/2" by 17" as framed. Condition is very good.
