An albumen photograph of the Swedish flagged Olga on the Nile river. The riverboats were known as dahabiya and typically travelled from Cairo upriver to either Luxor or Aswan on a forty or fifty day journey. Travel on one of these dahabiya was usually luxurious, for the times. The flag on the stern mast is that of Sweden, the one on the foremast is that of Egypt, then part of the Ottoman Empire. Two albumen photographs of the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Dualah at Agra, India. Neither is signed and though they are probably by different photographers they complement each other as one is a close up of the tomb while the other gives it some context in the surrounding garden.

A first edition, second issue which includes the story Brown of Calaveras. Published in 1870 by Fields Osgood & Co. Boston. Issues: gilt lettering has faded on the boards which now appear light brown; the boards also show wear and staining, predominately on the back where the ends are worn, stained and chipped; the book is slightly cocked, there are gilt initials imprinted on brown front free endpaper, and there is light foxing. Sold as is.
1849 Braided Hair Large Cent with brown/red tone. The coin is dirty and appears brown but brighter color is seen outside dirty areas.
Grade Very Fine by dealer. Held in white cardboard holder with cellophane window.
Published in 1856 by Ticknor & Fields. Brown calf boards with gilt edging and marbled textblock. Inscription on the free paper. Boards show light wear otherwise a nice tight edition.

A late 19th century souvenir: miniature bone binoculars depicting Catskill Mountain House, another hotel building, waterfalls and more (can be seen, but not photographed). These truly minimal magnifying lenses were invented in the 18th century by Lord Stanhope. Measures: "1/2 x 1/3 / 12 x 9 mm. Condition: some general wear consisting with time, but both lenses are working.
An oversized albumen photograph of the Grand Canal in Venice with gondolas and delicate hand tinting. Image 16 ½ inches (42 cm) tall, 21 inches (53 cm) wide. Frame 22 ¼ inches (56 cm) tall, 26 ½ inches (67 cm) wide. The photograph is slightly smaller than the card on which is mounted.
Condition: there is a considerable fade in the center of the image from the wooden backboard or the gap between the boards. The right side above the buildings on the far right some discoloration...

The white on the obverse is a piece of lint.
Rare hardbound copy of the Pall Mall Illustrated Magazine, edited by Lord Frederic Hamilton. Staining on the frontispiece, title and index pages; front half of the book has light staining on the edges.
"Poems; including The Saint's Tragedy, Andromeda, Songs, Ballads, &c." A Collected Edition published in 1879 by MacMillan & Co London.
The book is in excellent condition with the exception of a small tear on the side of one page (see photo) and an inscription in pencil on the front free paper (where there is light foxing). The top pages are uncut. Blue boards with a gilt lettering and bands.
