This cranberry opalescent hobnail vase was made between 1940 and 1977.

The cranberry color has always seemed to catch everyone's eye, even when people do not know what Fenton is.

Cranberry opalescent is made by gathering French opalescent over a small amount of Gold Ruby on the end of a hollw blow pide, and then blowing it into a mold. All pieces of cranberry opalescent are mold blown.

Rare Bavarian plate with elves by Heinrich & Co. Artist signed, the painting is of two small elves; one of which is using a leaf as a shield while fighting off a bee. It is titled "An Unpleasant Interruption". Gold rim. Excellent condition, measures 9 diameter.

Moonstone is the name of this opalescent hobnail pattern that was produced by Hocking Glass Company from 1941 to 1946. Offered here is the sugar bowl in excellent condition. This carved ivory okimono of Daikoku is a mid 20th century product. It depicts a smiling Daikoku holding a mallet (Japanese called Uchide no Kozuchi) or a lucky hammer over his head in his left hand. In his right hand, he holds a cloth bag of rice. Daikoku is one of seven gods or immortals in Japanese culture. He represents wealth and fortune. It is 5 ¼” high, 2 ¼” wide and 1 ½” thick. Rare semi antique supplementary warp silk embroidery on handspun indigo cotton, blanket from the diverse Tai ethnic group Vietnam/Laos. I collected this in Chiang Mai around 15 years ago and would date it around 50 to 90 years old. Nowadays you just can’t find this sort of textile anymore. Some minor embroidery losses but overall in very good condition. Dimensions: 80cm/31.5in x 137cm/53in.

Old Chin skirt, circa 1950, from the Khumi subgroup in Burma. The design is called “amtosa” although deceptively simple is really extremely complex; please note in enlargements that the reverse side of this textile does not show any of the pattern on the front. This is made on a backstrap loom of very fine homespun cotton with a beaded open work border along the selvedge. Three small repaired holes. L: 1.8m/6ft and W: 40.5cm/16in.

Fun portrait of Daruma with googly eyes, in quick brush strokes. Above him an inscription that mentions the Buddha, the Bulguksa temple on Mount Toham in Gyeongju, South Korea, the name Seog’un, followed by the seals Lim-Chung…. And Seog’un. Other red seals in the lower left corner and to the right of the character ‘Bul’ (Buddha).

This candle holder is a nautilus form faience candle holder from Malicorne-sur-Sarthe, France, a town in the region of Pays de la Loire famous for its decorative ceramics and stoneware. A rival and complement to the nearby Quimper factory, many of the designs are similar in form. This piece is likely from the early to mid-20th century.
